Just watching the Everton - Spurs game. I'm getting increasingly worried about losing our gaffas. I could deffo see a club like Everton coming in for them in January. Virtually everyone has ridiculed the idea.....saying “he’s done a great job with Sheff Utd BUT”

Theres always a but.
Wilder has no experience of handling expectation and pressure
Wilder has no experience of handling ego’s and big name players.
Wilder hardly has any experience of the Premier League
They are convinced his current success will be short lived and he’s simply “not the right fit for their club”.
Apparently their fans weren’t impressed with Wilders defensive style when we recently beat them 2-0.
They are convinced they only lost to us because it was their worse performance of the season.

They seem to want someone more at the Jose Mourinho level.

Fortunately for us.....no big club in the PL is remotely interested in Wilder.
Think some of our fans are wearing Blades colours spectacles and don't understand the snobbery in the PL.

The PL clubs sees style/ image/ marketing as being much more important than substance.
So most clubs in the PL wouldn’t touch Wilder with a barge pole and he wouldn’t be accepted by their fanbase.

The bottom line is we need to achieve a Champions League spot and have a good run in the group stages, probably quarter finals
before the fans of big clubs are interested.

Interesting thought.

On the one hand he’s at the club he loves with the team he’s built, adored by the fans and sitting 6th in the Premier League. Gates of 30,000 plus every match and in the midst of possibly building a legacy and dynasty that would make him a legend never to be forgot in Sheffield and beyond.

Or he could go to Everton, start from scratch while trying to compete with one of the most powerful clubs in the world who’s fans will be against him from day one because he isn’t a big foreign name with a nice foreign accent.

Tough choice, I see where you’re coming from.

Everton have been consistently average to shit for years now. A manager with wilders ambition shouldn’t be looking at a club like that.

There is no way in a million years Chris Wilder would even contemplate moving to either at the moment or in the near future.

Really can’t see the attraction of moving to someone like Newcastle either. Why would he?

I struggle to see what he’d gain to move elsewhere apart from money and I would think he’s pretty financially secure already.

I'd like to think he has more integrity than to jump ship for the money. I'd like to think his connection with the club, fans and players would be a strong enough bond to keep him. I'd like to think his nice house and Mercedes SUV are enough to satisfy him.

It’s not a mad world....the PL is all about marketing/ reputation and pleasing the world wide fanbase.
Transfers and manager appointments are often about vanity and making a statement of intent.

In world football Chris Wilder is a no body....he doesn’t register....so doesn‘t exist...
world wide supporters would laugh at the suggestion of appointing a Chris Wilder type.....it would be “Chris who?? ha ha “
Then when you explain he’s spent most of his career managing in the non league but performed a miracle at league 2 Northampton and league 1 Sheff Utd.
There would be even more laughter.

Also the PL is full of foreign players and egos.
Wilder has virtually no experience of managing foreign players or players with big ego’s.
He would be a massive risk and be a really unpopular choice amongst their clubs fanbase, he would be facing a really difficult task before he even started.

On the one hand, this is a bit of a ridiculous thread to be honest. Just relax and enjoy the good times.

Taking the question more seriously, I think the answer is pretty simple.

There's a ton of teams who would love to have Wilder as manager. But they're all below us. He's not going to leave for one of them.
There's a few teams who are big enough to attract anyone- Liverpool, Man U, Man City etc. None of these would go for Wilder.

That's 90% of teams accounted for.

There's a few teams who I think might want Wilder, but it would be more of a sideways move - Southampton (he played there as a youth), Newcastle, Wolves perhaps if Nuno left to go elsewhere. Assuming we're doing at least ok, I don't think it would be worth him leaving, it would be a marginal to no gain for a lot of stress and potential sacking if anything went wrong.
That leaves only 1 or 2 teams that are big enough to be interesting but whom also may, and i really stress may, think about Wilder.

Everton, or someone like Celtic. I also think there's a very remote chance Spurs would consider it, but realistically they'd look for someone like Poch, if he were to go.

In any case, I come back to my first point. Don't worry about it, if we carry on as we are the rewards here are just too great to give up like that
