Watched him in the cup game he plat at BDTBL well bossed the defence and was quick and strong. Commented to my lads he was as good as Harry M when I first saw him, if not better.

In both cup games he played pretty sure he got highest player rating both on this forum and sofascore.

From what we’ve seen of him in cup games, he wouldn’t be a liability to have around the first team squad. He looked comfortable in those games, albeit against lower league opponents. Would like us to try and bring him into the fold.

I don't think it would hurt Egan to be rested. He's made mistakes through sloppiness first and foremost and that can happen if you're not being pushed. Personally I think we could have used Jagielka more than we did when he was here, and hopefully Lopata or someone new can give him competition for his place next season.

Because on the two occasions when he's played in the first team, he's been rated best performance on the field.

He's been outstanding for Southend. Captained his national team at U18 level and done well in his first game for his national team at U21 level.

You can only perform against what's put in front of you, but everything that has been chucked his way he's easily excelled at.
