Long range goals

I don't think many of the threads on the subject have criticised the keeper. Mostly it's the defenders standing off and in this case defenders and midfielders who cop for the stick.

He tried....he missed!
His reaction after the goal confirmed he intended to and simply wasn’t dirty enough and the lad carried on.

He will learn.
Evans did learn and took out luongo 10 minutes later. All part of winning ugly and again we have proved we can do it against established championship opposition

Would love to see clips of these long-range goals to work out the problem. Last night it seemed to be an issue with Lee Evans losing his man (regardless of whether he was out-of-position or not initially, he had chances to take the man and/or ball). All of our deepest-lying midfielders (Evans, Lundstram) don't seem to be particularly great defensively, and nor is Fleck. I'm not advocating ripping up the midfield and starting again, simply because it's served us so well, but makes me wonder whether bringing Ryan Leonard into it in some way may help.

From what I can remember Lundstram gave the ball away needlessly when no one expected him to lose the ball, it’s this that caught us very unaware and no one reacted quick enough.

It was that far in the corner Blackman didn’t even dive as he had no chance with it.

Our midfield had an habit of losing the ball in the last 30 minutes and it caused us no end of problems, we need to thank our defence for some great blocks otherwise there could’ve been more long range strikes go in.

Blackman was great, again.

So QPR's guy dribbled a bit then scored from outside the box. Have I missed the 10 page thread about this? There's normally a queue forming to have a go at the keeper...

I considered it, but I can't be arsed.
