Loans with options to Buy

With Vieira looking all but set to sign, I'm trying to rack my brains of any of these deals we have done where we ended up actually purchasing (or selling) a player after one of these deals?

I believe Retsos and Zivkovic were two recent ones that of course didn't end up being permanent.

Even outside of the Blades, I do find that more of these deals result in the final transfer not being completed, than those that do.

There a good idea IMO. As long as the purchase is pre set. As if it doesn’t work out we don’t have to buy but if it does work out we can’t be hold fo ransom

Wouldn’t surprise me to see them outlawed at some point. They’ve become a bit of a FFP work around in numerous instances

Leeds had Harrison on that policy for what 4/5 seasons or whatever and still it only cost £9m as that was the purchase price that was an incredible deal.
