Thanks Roy - Promising start to young Ben's loan but our James seems to be still wary of being injured apparently. Would be nice if he plays the rest of the season for them keeping fit and can come back to us in the right frame of mind as I still believe he is a class act

Cheers Royston, the usual superb collection of views to digest. Seems to be a mixed set of views about Wallace from the Tranmere supporters, at least a few of them.
Brayford gets a slightly better average, and young Whiteman has the opportunity to develop into a promising player, so nice to read what the Mansfield massive think of him.

Notice Whiteman was in the EFL team of the week (alongside some free scoring wing back that plays for us who for some reason they put on the right side of a three man defence in the team).

“I think Harness would benefit on a loan to a L1 club – maybe Sheff Utd as a bargaining chip to keep Brayford”

<where's that emoticon of a face screaming with laughter?>

That's right Mr Burton, we'd be your feeder club!

if he continues the way he is, there will be Championship clubs in for Freeman next season, whether we can get up there or not.

I'd prefer us to either see if Brayford can play any role that isn't right wing-back, or just harness Clough's recklessness with money combined with his Braymania and rinse Burton for every penny they've got.

It would be nice if we just accepted the inevitable and wish him the best of luck finding a permanent deal elsewhere this summer.

Isn't Freeman and Coutts both out of contract this summer too. If so we need to extend those deals now!

As for Brayford, personally, I feel its time for all parties to move on and Brayford to leave United in the summer. Freeman is just as good going forward and on half the money no doubt that the Beard is. That's not Brayford's fault of course but Freeman has done so well I see no need to have Brayford back next season.

Weren't there rumours that Ipswich were interested in Freeman before we shipped Brayford out?

Coutts has a clause in his contract that allows us to extend it if he plays a certain number of games and I think he's close to that number so no problem there. Not sure about Freeman.

No rush. From Wilder interview in November:

Revealing their contracts all contain clauses which could tie them to United beyond the end of the season, Wilder said: “Billy is triggered on games, Doney is triggered on games, Couttsy is triggered on games, Kieron is triggered on games and Bash is triggered on games. As soon as they hit them, they are automatically here.”

I wouldn't be surprised. Whenever I've seen him I've thought he has a sort of languid, possibly half-arsed demeanour that belies just how good he is.

If he is out of contract in the summer I'd get him signed up as soon as.

Edit: I've just released the last post answers this ^

Move on FFS.
When does the penny (or in his case Cloughs 10 million wasted pennies for 14 games ) finally sink in, that after 8 years of being a pro he is a fucking crock and will never ever be fit enough to make a career in football.
Happended to Terry Kennedy, weve moved on with Samir why not come and join us .

I suppose paying in pennies at least explains why we never push any deals over the line on deadline day.

I'm really praying that Brayford can find his form and be the player with us as he was when he 1st came. Think it's false hope though.
He's an odd case isn't he mate? Seems as though he's only capable of putting a performance in for clough.
Wilder seems a people person but only if you meet him half way, if he played in this team the way he did when he was on loan he'd be the best in the league.

I want Brayford back, he's a quality player who was stifled at fucking centre half in his last spell with us
Then he got a bad injury

At his best he is still streets ahead of anything we've got
Agree with this 100% JJ.

Wallace not looking fit and Whiteman looking like a proper player are the stand out comments for me.

Agree with that, class is permanent (Brayford), form is temporary (Freeman). If we go up I'm sure we'll be seeing Brayford back at the Lane and Wilder getting the best out of him.
