some of us have :)

I seem to remember the away end was some poxy wooden stand behind the goal - about 2 people deep !

Anyone else remember the stand? - well, hardly a stand - some sort of small wooden structure probably with a felt roof!

I used to live in Scunthorpe so went to Sincil bank a few times in the 80s, what a shithole.

If you've ever been to the Shay to see Halifax Town play in the mid 80s you'd think Sincil Bank was like the Nou Camp!

Looks pretty tidy to me these days...

I played on the Shay once. Won 4-1. Some reason they let Junior Blades play the Halifax equivalent at u10s on the main pitch on a Saturday morning! Halifax were away that day.

Went once, very early 60's in F.A. cup. Joe Shaw era, won 4-1. Had to cross a small bridge over a river (stream!) on way out of ground, it collapsed and lots of Blades ended up very wet.

I was just thinking about this game and the bridge collapsing are you sure it was that long ago 😂 😂 I now feel my age

Yep - went in 82 - div 4 - won 5-1 along with bucket loads of very happy Blades.

Shit division - great year though.

Bert was once returning from foreign parts.
He got on an earlier train than he had booked at Sheffield.
The conductor chucked him off at Darnall. He had to spend an hour there with suitcase and suntan waiting for the next train.
He went to a cafe. Darnall is not a nice place.

Now that's a quality trip advisor review

That was the 1st leg. I think we either won the 2md leg 1-0 or drew 0-0 Silent Blade ?

Now I'm back at Handsworth I go quite a bit from Darnall station. Fifteen minute walk but will only do it in daylight, even then can feel a bit dicey!!
