Both me and the boy have been up since 6am with excitement.

God knows what we're going to do between now and getting the bus down at midday. We're both bouncing off the walls!!

What's everyone else doing to kill time this morning? Any ideas?

I'm up early cos I've got to catch the 9 o'clock train from Paddock Wood. Then train up to Sheffield from St Pancras...it's a long trip to find out how good we really are.

Have arrived into Liverpool airport to be informed by Europcar that due to technical problems they have no cars available this morning as yet. They are informing everyone that they face at least a 1 hour wait for the cars to be ready. Its gonna be a long morning.

Get the train and hire a motor when u land in sheff, there are 3 Europcar here, then leave it at Liverpool on your return, simples.

I'm already pacing around, patiently waiting to get to the game, only a few hours to go, I'm like a fucking smackhead waiting for a fix, it's ridiculous really, but when you've got it in your blood, what else can you do!!

The first match of the season always fills me with excitement, hope and expectation
BUT this season it's far higher than normal
A little voice keeps telling me that with Wilder and Knill maybe we've found ourselves a modern day Clough and Taylor.

Today will be tough but last season we played supposedly tough matches and almost always exceeded expectations making tough matches seem quite easy. I'm looking forward to playing a team that gives us a game and watching our players get tested.

Europcar eventually sorted out my car about 90 minutes after it was due. As I rushed out the place was packed with impatient customers. Straight up the road. Home and away kits purchased for the young fella. Spent a great hour on the stadium tour before enjoying a superb performance by the blades. Not long arrived back in Liverpool and will be on the 7 am flight in the morning. A long day but well worth it. Come on you blades!!

Just interested to know where you flew in from and...
why into Liverpool ?
I'm a fanatic Blade but also just as passionate about travel (my business) but only manage to fly 2-3 times a year for games....

Fly from Belfast international into Liverpool with Easyjet. It is the handiest route in terms of flight times etc, although I have noticed Easyjet start to get sloppy in recent months ( increased delays, cancellations and schedule adjustments). I know Liverpool well and that makes it an easy place to stop over for the weekend.
