I for one would welcome ched back with open arms.. With mcnulty and possibly A N Other coming in we will be strong going forward.. Surely we need to consider our back line and replacing K MAC which we haven't done in anyway shape or form.. There will no doubt be several casualties from other clubs but let's spend some of the cup money and make a statement

not replaced kmac, move on sunshine, ive seen the future and it involves scougall, baxter, murphy and doyle dominating the midfield, time to move on.

Do you really think NC is basing our whole season on a still imprisoned, convicted rapist?

NC has a master plan that I'm sure involves new players who have a yet sign. He talks constantly about the character of players being as important as ability.

I do wish people would move on from Ched.

I don't think any of the distribute the ball like kmac, great players carrying the ball but what about when it needs knocking about.. We need a steady dominator in the middle

He's also reiterated in his interview today, yet again, just how important it is for him to have everything set and in place for the first game of the season in August. This was the deciding factor on whether to keep hold of Miller or not - NC determined that we couldn't afford to wait for him to see if he turned out to be fit enough and back to his old self.

Did you see us much last season because we was stronger than we have been for quite a while in midfield, and MacDonalds was not missed at all during the second half of the season.

I don't know about "not missed". We would have been even stronger with him and he might even have made the difference between just missing out on 6th place and just scraping in. We will never know if this is the case, but one thing is certain, he was an outstanding part of easily the best midfield, and the best League 1 team, to come to the Lane this season.

IF we do sign Ched. He'll not be ready to play competitive football for a good while after he's released. Remember it took him two years to come good last time....

mate that's absolutely appalling and part of the reason united are going to get slaughtered if Ched does come back. absolutely no need for it

Ched's been eating cockroaches for the last couple of years.

He may never be the same again?

For real tho, he'll take a long time to get back to match fitness if we do re-sign him. Might not be until well into 2015.

When did 'Gash' become a descriptive word in the English language? I must have missed the memo

Couldn't give two flying fucks whether we get ched back or not tbh but the one thing we do need to do is replace kev mcdonald.Without coady now ,who was going a long way to replacing him,its left a big hole and people won't realise how important coady actually was,so for anyone to think we have enough in this postion they need to think again.

Yes, if only we could find another Conor Coady.

What's that you say? Oh.......

Correct, but we might well have a better team than Wolves in 18 months time.

One or two of you get rather carried away about opposition teams. You should get on Preston at 8-1 quick. Those pesky bookies have had the stupidity to make us favourites over a team destined to romp away with the League. Their 0-0 masterclasses have to be seen to be believed.

Some of you may remember United signing Patrick Suffo - he had a good pedigree and was a decent signing for a team that found it hard to score goals.

When United signed him at the start of 2000-1, he was under suspension for attacking a referee in France. It was reported that United thought this suspension did not apply to English football, but it did, and so Suffo did not make an appearance until November, and failed to score until February. He scored only one goal that season, and United, in the playoffs for a week in February, fell back and finished 10th. Our top scorer managed 6 goals.

If we pin all our hopes on someone who's had no pre-season and no competitive football for 2 and a half years who isn't available until 2 or 3 months into the season, we're going to get the same result. I expect that McNulty and Evans will not be our only forward signings - and I certainly hope we have other ideas.
