Let him rot

Seems like there's a lot of Blades living in a time warp. Even Roy Keane thought a red was justified and that's hardly surprising.

The miscontrol that led to the incident was laughable and we see quite a lot how when players lose the ball under no pressure they then overcompensate to make up for their mistake.

Talking about over-forceful red card challenges misses the point because there is no strength in our midfield at all. None of them look like PL standard players and we actually improved in the second half when two forwards in Burke and McGoldrick were playing there, and also when Bogle and Osborn came on.

I don't have any axe to grind with the players in general, they're simply not good enough and that's not their fault. Though Lundstram - who couldn't get near our promotion winning side - had a dozen good games at the start of last season (a long time ago now) and he seems to give the impression he thinks he's some sort of seasoned performer.

I'd love to know where he's going as I don't see how he's going to be a starter in any other PL side.

Spot on. Seen loads of Blades saying never a red. Not seen one other neutral say it's not from twitter feeds, BBC, Sky.

19/20 times a ref sends him off now with VAR and the chance to look again.

I hate the way football has gone but these days you cannot tackle like that. I was just shocked he did not send him off at the time.

Easy decision for me - why so many are so up in arms it being a red when every ref/assessor in the land will have been told to send him off for that.

As gordoncharles says he is a player that in 3 and a half seasons has had a handful of good games and now suddenly thinks he is going to gets lot of clubs wanting to sign him. Can see him ending up at Rangers where it will be more to his ordinary level. If not he's not getting another Prem side. He will be lucky to get a mid table Champ side which is ironically where we could be in a year. So its an odd move to price himself out and I wonder whether like Duffy and a few others he will just look stupid as in 2-3 seasons can see him at somewhere like Fleetwood or Tranmere.

I had kind of wrote him off a long time ago but the Fleck and Norwood drop off is the frightening one. I thought we would get another season of Norwood maybe not a regular every week and Fleck would be a mainstay for 2-3 years to come but now even the latter's future at the club is in doubt. You would get short odds on all the midfield four we were reckoned to count on this season being even at the club this time in a year.

Yep. Like it or not, flying into tackles like that these days is only ever going to result in a red card. These are professional players, they know this. It was idiotic. Could easily have won the tackle in a hard but controlled manner and we might have had our first 3 points rather than hanging on for dear life.

He’s a wanker.

Here is the problem if say JOC had made that tackle and been sent off everyone on this forum would be up in arms but because it is contract rebel Lundstram ................ do I need to go on?

I'm certainly no fan of Lundstram, and will be glad to see the back of him. Regardless of contract disputes, i simply don't rate him as a footballer. On this occasion not going to hang him out to dry.

Perhaps I'm in minority, but I think its a forceful & strong tackle which cleanly takes the ball and is perhaps a yellow, if that? Maybe thats an outdated view, and perhaps as individuals they need to be a bit smarter and not give the referee a choice?

However if he pulls out of that he gets slaughtered for not being committed.

Biggest gripe around the whole thing is it came from a shite first touch.

That tackle is hard bruising tackle but not a red he grot the ball simply not a red
