Let’s bring 2 strikers on at 3-0 up

What would you have done?

They didn’t make Deano and JOC both commit absolute howlers leading to goals

Washington’s pace helped us get the ball out

Nothing to do with subs, total lack of composure
It made us lose posession by attacking. Bring a couple midfielders on and have 1 upfront and see the fucking game out.

So you’d rather give them the ball and sit off, inviting the pressure? The goals had nothing to do with how we were set up, how do you prepare for 3 howlers from the core of your defence, stupid

Well possibly. But at 3-0 with 10 minutes left, how often do teams try and shut up shop?
9/10 times I reckon.

Why would we shut up shop? It wasn't 0-1 and we were hanging on! .....And how many times has it cost us this season and last?

See your point but I also remember Wilder getting slated for not going defensive in the past. That has cost us points too.

There's a difference between being 1 down and going for it and it being 1-1 and going for the extra 2 points. Yes he can be criticised in the latter scenario for not keeping what he has. This was, FFS, 3-0 up away from home and no need to do anything. I tell you, he has a little coaching manual written by a fuckwit at EUFA which he refers to. Alan Knill needs to find it and burn the fucker.

How Duffy didn't get on is remarkable.

He would have been a better choice as any.

1st sub - Duffy and Dowell behind Sharp to flood the midfield.

2nd sub - Duffy for Dowell to bring experience and composure.

3rd sub - Duffy for Billy to retain the ball better.

Surely to see a game out comfortably he's your go to man.

I am not so sure mate. I honestly think most manages would have made changes. You can argue they shouldn't but we see it week in and out. Maybe not at 3-0, take your point but certainly at 2-0 for instance.

Duffy should have been 1st sub, straight swap for Dowell who did good tonight but just needed Duffs experience to see game out

I think mcgoldrick taking on the shot instead of crossing for an easy tap in 4th had a lot to do with madine playing well and taking his place in the starting 11, obviously you want players to feel they want to prove the manager wrong but not at the expense of the team. Possibly he thought, as I did that 3 nil was enough but 4 nil would have been impossible to come back from

Hope no one seriously thinks McGoldrick shooting when we were 3-0 up is a “turning point” that’s laughable

In no way am I saying it was a turning point, it wasn't, but an easy goal for the team should always be more important than personal glory, as sharp proved last week for mcgoldricks goal. Ultimately it was other errors that we're costly and he probably wouldn't have taken the shot had it been 0-0
