Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore has paid tribute to an Irish fan of the club who was left in a coma after an attack outside Anfield.
County Meath fan Sean Cox was attacked before a Champions League semi-final against AS Roma in 2018.
Mr Moore tweeted: "One man in Ireland is loving every moment of this...thinking of you this evening Sean. You'll Never, Ever, Walk Alone".
I thought the above was a touch of class from the Liverpool Chief Exec. To remember Sean Cox, who went to a football match & ended up having his life shattered, when they have just won the league after 30 years was a sign of genuine humanity.
When we are bellyaching about a poor result maybe reading the above might bring us back to earth..
I hope Sean Cox is able to enjoy Liverpool's success.
