I believe one or two have been suggesting he shouldn't be in the team.
Tremendous performance tonight. Like many in the team, somewhere close to where we were playing in the first third of the season.

He looks a lot better player when he's playing with Brooks. We look a lot better team when it's Clarke & Brooks.

He's played pretty well or very well most of the season and some of the criticism has been bizarre to me.
I think Wilder had a Hillsborough-like performance in mind tonight, particularly in the absence of Duffy, and it worked very well, particularly second half.
When you have someone leading the line like Clarke did tonight it helps set the tone.

Although they have a great scoring record, I never feel that Clarke & Sharp are a 'pair' in the traditional sense and operate as individuals. Just the impression I get. Where as with Clarke & Brooks there is a visible desire for inter play and awareness of the other. If we could only get a Lampardesque late running midfielder into the mix, it would be one hell of a threat.

He was excellent tonight, Clarke, as were quite a few others.

I think Clarke and Brooks are more of a natural pairing than Clarke and Sharp. Clarke is more a leader of the line, where as Brooks has a bit more pace and skill about him, they're asking oppo defences different questions. When it's Clarke and Sharp up top, I always think they haven't got the pace to get in behind, opposition defences tend to play everything in front of them. That said I'd have probably brought Sharp on ahead of Donaldson tonight, he'd probably have a better chance of sniffing a second goal out, and he'd have probably got those free-kicks that Donaldson didn't but should have when the defender went straight through him.

A very good performance from the team tonight, gutting to concede the equaliser so late on.

It's all about movement around him. Goes for all our players in some recent games to be honest. Especially without Duffy. Tonight everyone was showing for the ball, we moved it around well in spite of the pitch, and it brought out the best in him.

In addition Cardiff had a very high line. Leon did not have a lot of chasing down the defenders today - the goal keeper (and indeed any defender - hoofed the ball forward. So he and Sharp would have been wasted as a "Chasing down" couple of forwards. In addition the number 17 - blond haired lad - followed Brooks around a lot - to the extent it took him Warnock to tell him that he had moved wings!

Poor before he scored. Possession turns over far too regularly for my liking when he is directly involved in a play phase.

Then when he Scores, a switch seems to go off in his head that turns him in to a footballer again. It’s bizarre !

Agree he is better with Brooke’s than he is with any of the others.

Also agree that it was correct for Sharp to be benched against a tall, physical side last night. Although I might have expected a 20 minute appearance at some point as Sharp remains our best finisher and just might have put one of those chances away to get the 2nd, and ultimately crucial goal !!

Fantastic team performance where as many as 7 or 8 could rightly be awarded MOM.

So which version of Leon are folks expecting against Barnsley ?

The one that looks like a decent footballer or, bluntly, the one that does not !

Answers on a postcard ;)

Before his Goal on Monday Leon was, though working hard, poor. His first touch wasn't there and looked devoid of confidence. The Goal sneaked in the bottom corner, and the relief on his face was clear to see, and he was nearly unplayable for the rest of the game. Hopefully that Goal helps him turn a corner.

On the bench again Billy?
Wouldn’t you be ?

When you have the third best goals per minutes ratio in the division ?

When you visibly and statistically have better key offensive attributes than he who can not be dropped or subbed ?

Just saying like ;)

You were saying it before Clarkes loss of form. When Sharp was poor, i.e. When he spends all his time wrestling because the CB's have the measure of him, you without fail claim he was still the better of the two, irrespective of what actually happened. He was benched for a reason. Sadly he's not leading the line anymore and Wilder can see that, even if you can't.

Me eyeballs, and every key, measurable and meaningful statistic prove otherwise.

If Leon Clarke was a marquee signing and showing the same performance levels he’d be lauded, because he’s ex-pig and journeyman Leon Clarke he’s wank to some and will never change.

Top scorers should play in my view.

Dare we say Clarke will finish the season how finished last season? His goals secured us promotion, then the title, could be a play-off spot this season.

No he’s wank, I can guarantee some on here will say he’s had a poor game.
