He comes across as a genuinely good bloke. What a great Sheffield United man Len Badger is. Gave his all for the Blades every time he played - you could see how much it meant to him - and he's just the same as a supporter.
I'm making a confession here.
In 1975 when I was a kid my parents went to a dinner and dance evening and brought me back a paper plate signed by Len Badger. It was my pride and joy for about a week then ended up in the bin.
Also I vaguely know Martin, now lives in a big house in Rotherham. He's OK but being a management/ director type has learnt it's often wise and prudent to keep your cards close to your chest.
Wasn't that crazy about Mr Green, failed to acknowledge the great strides forward that Wilder and the team have done this season when asked, just brought up the poor start of the season. And why be so cagey on how many season tickets sold? Maybe he's a good lad, don't know him, but came across a little distant to me.

Martin Green amongst other things owns the Courtyard boozer at Wickersley and that's where all the players and Wilder ended up I think for last Xmas piss up. They hired it out on a Sunday afternoon if memory serves me correct for a private booze up. One of the lads/ex-players I know was invited and was in there.
I think Green has his fingers in a number of pies including Redtooth
yep I've bored myself with writing that Travesty he never played for England

I suspect he genuinely didn't know or couldn't remember the precise figure. He obviously remembered the salient point that we'd sold more than last year. I can relate to that as my memory works like that. As you say, it may also be down to not processing all the direct debits and the possibility that some applicants might get turned down. It would look daft if he gave a figure and it turned out to be lower, particularly if it was because a few of our supporters were refused credit (and you'd be able to work out how many). To be fair to Green it looked to me that he acted in a deferential way on all footballing matters to Len Badger . I can't really fault him for that .
I do however agree with you on the ST numbers though , it's hardly a matter of national security is it ? Maybe it's a difficult one to calculate with a large number being taken up via direct debit and this makes it a little more difficult to get an accurate number ?? Or could it be a simple case of keeping our cards close to our chest with salary negotiations for new/retained players looming large ??
His mother is Samantha? She played Hockey with someone I used to work withI was mates with Len Badgers grandson at school.
