Leeds will do better than us

Keep your powder dry wait and watch. Also I’m quite relieved after @Roygbiv’s view from the media I was worried there wouldn’t be anything to be pinned up on wilders wall of fame this year. I’m sure none of this is going under the radar as there’s history between wilder and Leeds after our promotion season and shots across the bow afterwards.

League positions between us and Leeds will be pretty close ...we should finish above them as I .think Goalkeepers could be the difference as their goalie looked like a YTS kid out of his depth .....we better fkin do as ive got tons of side bets on with their shit house fans ....

I haven't really heard anyone say Leeds will do better than us. Lots of people think they'll do well, but then lots of people thought Norwich would do well. And lots of people thought we'd be hopeless.

Leeds looked decent coming forward today and suspect at the back. They were playing Liverpool though. They were brave and went for it and much as I hate them I've got to respect that. On the other hand, game free from expectations, players well up for it, 0 points acquired, 2 penalties given away.

After all the shit we got last year we should be the last ones predicting doom for anyone. Let's play a few games and then see how they look.

I’ve spoken about Leeds chances with my learned football friends and we all think 2 scenarios could happen

1:They could do a Sheff United
They have a similar style to us in that they are organised and well drilled play high tempo football.
They are excellent out of possession and work so hard closing down the opposition.
They are alsp positive snd like us will genuinely go out to win..regardless of the opposition
So if they finished as high as 10th I wouldn’t be shocked.

2: They could do a Norwich
Remember thst Norwich were champions like Leeds playing impressive attacking football.
Their fans were confident like Leeds fans as they knew they would continue to play attacking positive football even in the PL.
Farke (like Bielsa) was really stubborn and instead of being pragmatic and focusing on his defence they continued to play open attacking football.
Confidence quickly drained away and they just kept playing good footbsll but losing.
So Leeds might continuously get punished and struggle...so.it wouldn’t surprise me if they are relegated.

Have you seen this shit... sick of the love in already View attachment 91494

It's the Leeds fans saying "and people said we'd go straight back down" that get me. Fuck me, I was still thinking of how to mathematically confirm safety after we had 40 points.

They've got fuck all and they're safe!

Luckily they didn’t get a win, can you imagine the look leeds special edition on Monday? I’m already sick and tired of all the extra programmes and extended coverage on tv.

Dont worry. It will soon blow over and the giddiness will soon be dampened, after they've had a few defeats on the bounce.

At the moment it's all new and exciting to them and they are full of themselves. They are one of the new kids in class who fancy themselves a bit. Or as we called em when I was in the forces, 'young, dumb, and full of cum'. They will soon lose the bravado after a few clips round the ears in the PL.

I think I've found my 2nd team after Sheffield United and it's got to be Leeds!

Because any chance for me to bellow out loud "LEEDS! LEEDS ARE FALLING APART AGAIN!" gives me enormous pleasure. I watched the match (as much as I don't generally like giving Leeds the time of day... I had nothing else to do at the time) and I was willing Leeds to lose almost as much as I would Blades to win. Great fun. Keep it up Leeds! 🤪

I think that despite the obvious similarities to Norwich, they are a better side and well managed. I thought they bought some old foreign guy based on his former reputation?
Even so, I expect them to finish bottom half, but they will avoid relegation.

Just before everybody mulls the whole 'where do Leeds sit in the best teams to come up from the Championship' debate, I'd just like to point out that - when you look at the way that they set up and the style of their manager, it's obvious that - we all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds, Leeds and Leeds and Leeds.

They still lost. Opening day too. You expect a bit of unpredictability. Plus we took 4 points off Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Wolves. So argument invalid. We also only lost 1-0 to Liverpool in one of the games.

I don't get the journo on the innovative comment unless he's trying to be provocative.

It's pretty clear Wilder's approach was lauded as innovative, yet after 1 game of watching Leeds he's already bowled over. Either a bit of recency bias or he's easily impressed.

Not unexpected. As far as innovation, we are last season's news!

Tbh I didn't rate Leeds performance at all. It was like a cup tie where the underdog went for it against the bigger/better team. They continually tried to play it out of defence and got caught time after time. Liverpool didn't capitalise at all and threw away lots of good opportunities. This will be Leeds undoing. Yesterday they had nothing to lose, they might as well just go for it. Sure, Leeds scored a couple of cracking goals but over 38 matches they won't consistently score those type of goals and will be undone more often than not.

I don't think they will go down. But I certainly don't see them challenging for Europe like we did last season. I think they will hover around lower mid table - a bit like Newcastle last season. They will never really be in serious danger of relegation, but they will always be looking back rather than above.

They played well, fair play to them. Be interesting to see if they can keep it up though. Its literally 1 game and people are all over them which is a little OTT. They are going to look stupid if they get relegated.

Like others say i literally have no idea where they will finish but after 1 game Its a little stupid to judge, leeds can take a lot of positives from that game though.

Seems this Leeds love in is upsetting some on here, better get used to it quick cos it’s in for the season. Personally I don’t care what plaudits they get, I don’t understand why it’s even getting the time of day, One game in and it’s already starting to look like we’re jealous that Leeds are the new media darlings!
Not a good look fella’s
