Baggie fan here.

Darren Moore , kept our squad together. Dawson wanted to leave there where grumblings from others. He stopped all this. He is well liked by our players and has a good reputation . He has been good at persuading loan players (holgate , barnes, gayle) to chose us over other teams also prepared to spend big namely villa . Add to this he was the youth team coach and has done a lot to bring through our youth players and embed them into the squad. rakeem harper / sam field. He has known some of those kids from when they were 10.

He is 40 games in to club managmentand and a club legend so he gets a bit more slack than some might. however He and his number two are slow in working out that 4,3,3 aint that effective for us at home. He has been critised for his subs but he is getting better at this. He is genenerally felt to be doing a decent job. Strengths seen as motivation and man managment.
( average legue pos for a relegated side from the prem is 8th )

Anyway Good luck (within limits)
I do have a soft spot for the blades (after finally getting over the 6-0 defeat) , they are a bread and marge kind club like the albion.
Ps i think its Norwich and yourselves for autos .

It's impossible not to like DM, comes across as a top bloke and as you say he is doing a really good job. In such an unpredictable league, most teams would take 4th place, still in with a strong chance of autos with 12 games to go. It is still wide open really but I think the next 2-3 fixtures could just see it break in a couple of teams favour, whoever that might be.

Personally I backed you for the title on my accy, so would be delighted if you made a charge now, provided Leeds implode [looking ever more likely] along with Norwich [far less likely it would now seem].

So it's a good luck [also within limits] from me too :)

I predicted that West Brom would fade after losing Harvey Barnes; the best player in the division at that point. I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise, so far, but there's a long way to go. Leeds don't seem to be in the best position either, so it'a case of who can get the most points out of those two sides. I'm unsure to be honest, but with West Brom's four point handicap I'd have to go for a Baggies win or a draw. I must say Ricky perspective has me second guessing myself - combined with Leeds form over the last ten games. I would say that United, Norwich and Leeds are the best 'teams' in the strict sense of the word, but West Brom have individual ability that can help them plunder points when they look like an otherwise functional side..

I’m going to stick with my stance from when someone started a thread, (sorry, can’t remember who,) regards Villa taking points off sides around us, that Villa won’t do that and we’ll have to do the job ourselves which I think we will do.

I’m not concerned regards the score line of the Leeds vs WBA game as I personally think it’s what we do that will see our final league position, which for me will be top spot, sorry to say this for those with a nervous disposition. :)

Staying in the top 2 is all that matters now.
So WBA win preferred but not essential.

If West Brom end up staying in the division then they have to get rid of Moore. Anything other than top 2 really is failure with that squad. Where had he been before West Brom? Or did he just stumble into the job and their premier league stars have won him enough games to keep him in the job without having to think about tactics and planning?

And if Leeds don't go up, they've got major ownership and player problems. Bielsa will be off - £3.4m richer - to 'weave his magic' elsewhere.

Draw for me tonight - it's the draws that'll kill you. But whatever happens tonight, over the weekend and on Monday night, won't be fatal for us, there's a lot of points to play for and - as we've proved throughout this season - we can, will bounce back from the odd setback.

Draw for me, only 2 points earned by both clubs as opposed to a team winning and getting 3 points

Good post mate,

The thing is, no matter how liked someone is, once they're in the glare of the press and public, whatever goodwill they've managed to accumulate, they're judged on results and how the team is playing. You're correct about the similarities between the clubs. Historically, we've certainly underwhelmed, but under Chris Wilder we are progressing nicely, and we now have a squad that has depth, enabling us to confront injuries and changes in form. We (the supporters) are mainly low key about the autos, but what you can't deny is league position and how well the team is performing. So we march on, and with each game we begin to see what's possible.

Good luck with the rest of the season, but I'm sure you'll understand why we're only concerned about ourselves. We take nothing for granted, so until the mathematics become black and white we continue to look over our shoulder.

Ideally we need everyone (except us) to draw every single game.
It’s 2 points dropped every time.

A draw removes 1 point from our rivals' pot, and denies either of them of a potential further 2 points ... if that makes sense?
Yes thats how I see it as well - both teams drop 2 points so IF we win on Monday then we pull further ahead of both

Spot on - a defeat for either team tonight is not terminal (especially if we were to lose a couple of games) - however the more points all teams can drop the better.

Leeds and West Brom will draw tonight, possibly 1-1. Norwich will then draw with Millwall tomorrow, possibly 1-1- also.

Get your shillings on it.

Draw is first preference. If it can't be a draw I'd prefer a WBA win, ideally by a couple of goals, which would be soul-destroying to Leeds after losing to QPR. If Leeds drop off the pace I can see us finishing above Norwich or WBA.

Shirley a draw is the best result?

1 point each as a pose to one side getting 3, is that too simple???

Also no positive GD effect for either side.

Just seen the very similar response above (Madeinsheffield)

After seeing Leeds on Tuesday they don’t have a great deal of quality up top, they won’t score enough in this game to win or for the rest of the season to finish in the top 2, it’s in our hands now so whatever happens tonight we need to go and grab a better result than those behind us on Monday.

Good start for Leeds innit.

Sort of get a sense of edginess from WBA.
