I wanted them to stay down, but looking at it financially, there is a good chance the two games with them will be televised next year therefore revenue for us. And a big loss of Revenue for the Pork as well so in some ways there is a bright side. However still taking those factors into account I really wished the arrogant gits stayed down.

I'm probably almost as gutted today as I was overjoyed last sunday

and leeds and leeds
we all feckin hate leeds grrrrrrr
suppose we have 2 derby (grudge) matches to look forward too next season
still not forgiven them for Mick Jones and Tony curry think best we took off them is prob Killa
hope the fact they've come up dosent make it more likely Monty or Del boy will go to them (not dropping a league)

I've never managed to 'hate' Wednesday. More like a feeling of bitter rivalry.

Leeds, however, is another matter.

Look at it this way; that's a sell-out crowd at home that Wednesday will miss out on.

Must be an age thing, I ain't really fussed whether or not Leeds come up or not, I don't know any Leeds fans and it took many years for me before we actually played them so I'm not really bothered. Infact, I must confess to half supporting their team in the Champions League.

To be honest, I enjoy the games with them, great atmoshphere and usually good games.

Loads of local games for us next year, Leeds, Hull, Donny, Barnsley, and a little further afield Derby, Boro, Leicester/Forest/Blackpool, PNE & Burnley.

I'm with Alien on this one; I want that squalid set of fans to keep living in the lower leagues for some considerable time to come. The arrogance of their fans is incredible.

At least we know who will be the chosen ones for BBC and Sky games now.

I couldn't give a monkeys if they're in the league or not. We need to concentrate on who's gonna be in our squad next season. Once the squad is assembled, we just need to look at ourselves and look to win every game, whether home or away regardless of opposition. If we concentrate on ourselves and stop worrying about others then we'll win more games.

My dad's a Leeds fan and he used to take me to a fair few of their matches when I was younger, so I'm glad they've managed to get up.
Plus I love it when we play them, I was sat with my dad in the Kop for both of the matches against them in the 02-03 season, I was going crazy when we scored in the last minute and it took me five minutes to work out why he wasn't celebrating. Also, I was sat in with the Leeds fans at Elland Road when we beat them 4-0 in 2005, that was a great night :D

I just hate the way " Look LE£d$" Tv and calendar are so far up their arses. The Blades could win the FA cup but LE£d$ reserves winning away at crewe would get more publicity. Wankers lot of em. Once got chased down Cayton Bay holiday campsite by two of the bastards I had my 1984 home shirt on, I was only 14. Twats

It just adds to more competition for the signing of quality players for next season. Id imagine they will be going for a few of the players that we will be going for.

Will they be paying for the seats the fans ripped out on there last visit....?????

like most blades im not that bothered ,by the end of next season i will be

be it becasue of the blanket coverage they will get off of local tv or the fact their fans are cunts .im not really sure

like i say ask me next year

There are two teams that I really really really hate and they are Leeds and Chelsea. It could be an age thing because my hate comes from the 70s.

Today, Leeds got more time on SSN for getting promoted in second place from league 1 than we have had all season. Next season it will be the BBC all over them. And what makes it even worse is I think they might do Leicester.

If it's an age thing, then I'm really old at 35. Of the above sides, Donny, Leicester and Blackpool I don't mind that much, and that's even after going away to Blackpool to watch us lose 3-0 in one of the most gutless performances of all time in the League Cup in 1993. That was our fault though, not theirs.

I'd even go as far as to say I quite like Leicester.

The rest I detest, with Leeds being waaaaaaaaaaaay top of the pile. The sycophantic wanking by Look Leeds and Leeds TV should be enough for any non-scum fan to realise why they are the most hated side in the country.

Chelsea are are another set of twats I've hated, but they're slightly odd in that I hated them when they were shit, and I hated them when the plastics turned up after the oligarch arrived even more. On two counts, I really despise them.

I can remember being in London and going to a mate's house, and being roundly abused by his Chelsea supporting uncle. We were in Division Three at the time, and I was nine years old. They were shit in Division Two.

I fucking hate the twats.

I'll land on the side of "the pigs have lost revenue". The two big clubs have come up and three small clubs have gone down. I'd rather Leeds had stayed down though. Personally got nothing against the club, it's the tv coverage i despise.

I wanted them to stay down we dont want those dirty scummy bastards back in this league.

Id sooner see the pigs back here than them.

I'm with the 'it's an age thing'. I've seen Leeds since the late sixties and it transcends hate.

Not the 'Hate Man U/Chelsea/Liverpool/whoever because they win things and are always on TV'

Not the 'Hate Wendy/Barnsley/whoever because I have to work with their fans and get constant gyp.'

No, Leeds are a special case. Under Revie, they were thugs and cheats, nothing more (The Damned United summed that era up pretty well). With success came a huge increase in their numbers which is normal. However this increase in 'support' included a vast number of thugs, retards and people who think Leeds are the biggest team in the World (aided and abetted by Look Leeds).

If you can get hold of a copy, read Hunter Davies' The Glory Game. It covers the 1969/70 era when Leeds used to do choreographed warm-ups, wore poncy little number tabs on their socks and every game at Helland Road was intimidating to say the least.

But it still goes on. Did you see the tiny pocket of Bristol fans in the corner yesterday? Surrounded left, right and behind by Leeds scum? Well in (I think) 1990 we played there and there were just 1200 Blades (all the tickets they gave us). Arriving (incognito, of course) at the ground, I saw my first ever police helicopter hovering over a football match. Ditto a huge Leeds banner being passed around the ground. While warming up, our GK Simon Tracey was practicising long boot-outs (some things never change!). When the ball went into the Leeds half, they kept it! Soon, we had no balls left to warm up with. A small thing, perhaps but one that utterly sums up those scum. Our midfielder (Gannon) had his girlfriend in the stand. She was glassed. They had Gordon Strachan playing. If ever a player and a team were meant for each other... I have never seen fans in such a frenzy in an English ground, whipped up by the PA.

Oh yes, Leeds are la creme de la scum - have no doubts.

Have they changed? Not at all. The ridiculous Gradel should be banned for a season. The up-himself Beckford should get a slap everytime he walks on a pitch. Hewson, Becchio etc. All scum.

"Michael Jones, Michael Jones, is it true what Wraggy said, you won't come back, oh noooooooo....."

With me until I die.

I really don't like Leeds. Maybe it stems from going to Elland Road in the early 80's and having more spare change thrown at me than a hook-a-duck stall man, or maybe it's every time they come to the Lane they leave it looking like a scene from "Twister". Or it could be down to the blanket coverage they get from Look North Leeds. Kevin Blackwell could find a cure for cancer, but if Simon Grayson farted on camera they'd be fawning all over him.

One thing's for sure, Tanya Arnold will have a hard-on you could break paving slabs with now they're up. Imagine if they'd won the division.

And you just know she's grinning like that because she's giving Little Tanya a damn good seeing-to.

I agree. I'm happy they came up. I work near Leeds with a few Leeds fans and they don't mind us. I've no reason to hate them. Hating them when they're really not fussed by us only makes us look like the small club.

It should make for a good atmosphere and a decent crowd when we play them at least.

With the scum going down we needed a few matches which should guarantee big crowds. Barnsley, Doncaster and Leeds will do nicely for me.

How old are you? If you actually listened, instead of making really really amusing comments  you might just see that Tanya Arnold is one of the better sports reporters on the BBC. She's given the Blades some excellent coverage over the years, and her reports on all sports are always well researched, well worded and impartial, apart from a Yorkshire bias which is far from being a crime on a local news programme.

As to Leeds well I hated them in the 60's, 70's and 80's, now they're just another club. It'll be interesting to see what kind of ambition they show now they've been promoted. I think maybe they could do a Forest and be up there next season.

:gallop:

I don't like them because of plenty of previous with them in the past. With an extra special mention to a Easter Monday trip up there in 1990 to see us lose 4-0 and being shit scared at 12 years old because of no end of projectiles being launched our way.

But on the other hand i have got a few good mates who live in Leeds, and i know that i can more or less guarantee a couple of top quality, all day sessions next season.

Must admit near the end of the game yesterday, when i saw what the alternative to Leeds being promoted was (Millwall), it was a no-win situation. I have hated Leeds nearly as much as the grunters, but the last 3 seasons my hate has wained. I think the grunters will be gutted as we have our own local mini-league next season with Hull coming down, and especially if Hudders get promoted in the play-offs.

Ask me again after next season!
