The Sun are linking us with Lee Hendrie this morning in a £1.6 deal and £18,000 a week.

David Sommeil is being linked again too.

Also heard on Radio Sheffield that we are still signing the Horse and he's settled his differences with Warnock and ready to fight for his place.

18k a week for hendrie would be a shocking piece of buisness. He is no better than Tonge or jagielka. Poor attitude aswell.

I agree es a rite clown ...not worth that much a week i dont want someone like that on our books dont think hes good enough anyway.
I dont want to be funny i know thers a lot of speculation flying around and wer seemingly being linked with everyone.....is it me or are other people, in the majority not all that inspired by some of the names that are coming out and people who we're being linked with because to be honest im not......dont know if thats just me or what but just wondered what other people were thinking

Poor attitude do you mean he is possibly the laziest footballer ever?

Sheffield United may miss out on Lee Hendrie - because they cannot match the Aston Villa midfielder's £20,000-a-week wages.

Reports are claiming that the 28-year-old's salary could be the biggest stumbling block in a move to Bramall Lane.

Hendrie, who has also been linked with Portsmouth, told the Birmingham Mail: "I've had a couple of shouts of leaving Villa in the past but nothing ever happened. But it just looks like this time I will definitely be going.

"We have spoken to a couple of clubs but nothing has really been followed up. I don't want to leave. I've said that time and again. I feel as if I am being pushed out.

"I didn't play much last season. I found myself at times having the young lads playing ahead of me."

Sounds like a bit of a mardy arse. I don't want to go BUT whinge whinge moan moan.

Speculation will fly about with a newly promoted club, since (like most clubs) we have not officially revelaed our budget (or have we?) then anyone going will be linked with us.

He's a good player, just needs a kick up the arse. Which I think Warnock could give him!

Rumoured that we could sign him for £500k, that's not too much to risk on someone who has as much quality as him.

Still would prefer Gareth Barry from Villa tho :)

Id say 20k a week is 1 hell of a big risk! He isnt any better than jagielka and certinly not better than Tonge. Ben Watson from palace would be a great signing instead.

He's apparently on £18k and I'm sure someone like Warnock can get him down to about £12k.

Villa's Hendrie offered to Sheffield Utd
tribalfootball.com - May 28, 2006

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock is pondering a move for Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie.

The Yorkshire Post says Warnock confirmed that he had been approached by Hendrie's agent but refused to comment further.

Looks like Hendrie himself is looking for a move to us.

Id love to see Hendrie in a blades shirt, always rated him!

Well sharpy knows all and if he says he is shit then he is right.

Sharpy is a football guru i wont have any of this sharpy bashing round here. Seriously he dosnt like some things and he gives his reasons as to why he dosnt like em. Now he gets mentioned all the time as the person who hates everything.

Or maybe not....

Midfielder Lee Hendrie is still hopeful of staying at Villa Park this summer having reportedly snubbed Sheffield United's advances.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who has made around 250 senior appearances for Villa since working his way into the starting XI in 1994, has fallen out of favour with boss David O'Leary and it appears that the club are looking to offload him before the start of next season.

The newly promoted Blades have expressed an interest but Hendrie is adamant that he can still do a job for the club he has supported all his life and is dragging his heels on a move away.

His chances of staying look bleak given that Villa have confirmed a planned pre-season testimonial for the player has been shelved given that they do not expect him to still be a part of the club.

A Villa spokesman said: "We do not feel that it would be in the best interests of Lee or Aston Villa for a testimonial to go ahead at this stage."

i never liked that leed hendrie! what a tosser!

Good, he can bugger off.
Ahhh, yes id like to change my mind on that.
