I know that figure may be a drop in the ocean for some clubs, but as we're carefully treading through the newly laid turf of La Liga I fail to see the justification for Gregory's supposed value. Maybe £800K, even at a stretch £1.2million, but £2million??? Any of the decent Div1 players could be had for upwards of £1.2-1.5million. Wilder has shown that with an informed and educated eye it's possible to spot a player of potential and initiate them into the way he wants to play. The deal of the decade must have been the signing of John Fleck, the fact that Wilder snuck in there and showed Fleck where his future lay is testament to CW and his team, and it cost the club a one way ticket to Sheffield, phenomenal transfer acumen!

I've no problem paying £2million or more for someone with an established pedigree, but let's be sure that whatever money leaves the United account reflects the quality of player we're bringing in. If Wilder rates Gregory that highly then he'll get the support from all concerned, I just hope we see a player who has added value to the team over a season.

I think we should get him at the right price. I think £1m - £1.5m is fair.

I have watched him a few times. Good physical presence, decent pace, scores all types of goals including scruffy ones. I think he could score a dozen or so in the Championship in the right team.

It's a bonus that he's apparently a Blade. If he's attainable then we might struggle to find anyone better for that sort of money.

Agreed, I have seen enough of Gregory to know that he is not an improvement on what we have got.

He is a poor mans Billy Sharp.
