Heard on the grapevine cloughy has had his people looking at him,hes scored 29 goals in 35 games for halifax in the conference which has helped them get in playoffs, hes a sheffield lad who would try his knackers off if ever given the oppurtunity ,he didnt get a chance to really start playing until the age of 24,he could easily be the cheap option although i'd much rather have someone proven at the level myself but hey you never know

On Wikipedia it says he used to be at our academy.

You're putting this about a bit. You his agent or summat?
I wish i was an agent thats the buisness to be in i wouldn't be on here posting if i was an agent i'd be trying to get a buck or two for a player hes just someone i know of from football thats all and im just chucking it out there to get even more information than i already know thats all

Think that might be me, SEB. Been bandying his name around for a while now, especially since Chesterfield signed his team-mate and he made the successful step up.

that all?

Scored again in their 1 nil win against cambridge in the first leg of playoffs, the lads on fire

This is the sort of option that we can take a punt on and see if it delivers.
Often people getting a second chance in this game, after an initial set back, will be more diligent and work harder to keep it when the next opportunity arises.
Worth a shot IMHO whilst we are in div 3 - probably a riskier option for teams in the Champ - but if he develops with us in the 3rd Division he could turn out to be a diamond.

Could be the next Jamie Vardy or even Ian Wright! Worth a punt I reckon.

Big question, Blade or Wendy?

Not sure why I think so, but feel sure I read somewhere that he's a Blade.

Mind you, being from the dark side hasn't stopped us welcoming Harry with open arms.

Yes kenilworth he will score goals theres no doubt about it and he will be very cheap aswell its a no brainer for me the more i think about it ,he can't be any worse than what wev'e got can he????

More out of interest than a reason not to sign him TB.

Seems he is a Blade though which would make it all the better - having not seen anything of Halifax what type of forward is he?

Hes strong with a bit of pace and hes a lethal finisher,he can also lead the line upfront on his own which could be benificial depending on what cloughs plans are for next seadon bladepicker

Sounds very much like Jamie Vardy then and exactly the type of forward we need.

A good number 9 with a bit of pace and strength who scores regularly? I'm sold.

I went to school with him. He is a Blade and was at United until he was about 14. My one and only appearance for our academy side had him in it too!

Shame you didn't develop into our saviour then DazBe :(

He might not be all that cheap. £200K according to the Daily Mail.
That's assuming we beat Celtic, Wigan, Cardiff, Derby, Chievo and Catania to his signature:-

P.S. Once Cerys Matthews from Catania gets her claws into him we've got no chance.

Would have been nice to have the chance. If I'd have been a couple of inches taller and I'd have been signed!

Crikey - Does Scougs tower above you then?

Who was in charge at the top when that decision was made? Was it the vertically unchallenged Mr Blackwell?

He absolutely loves an overhead kick ;)

If you think 200k aint cheap for a goalscorer, then i must still be living in the 20th century
Do agree if her out of catatonia gets into him, she will have used a strap on:eek:

I think £200K on a 25 year old who has never played Professional league football is not cheap for our level of football. In the 21st century there will be Bosman players that have played at much higher levels and available on free transfers.

Its allright getting bosmans but what are their wages going to be?this lad would play for next to nothing compared to players what normally play at the level were at.Oh and by the way if you look at my opening post i was trying to imply i knew united were in for him which they are but i also stated that i would prefer someone proven at the level myself. When you weigh up how much he'd cost with the wages we would pay hes propably worth a shot to be honest, plus we would still need a proven striker anyway,he's just the cheap viable option in my opinion

Not sure he would play for next to nothing... He's part-time at the moment, qualified sparky so likely on about £25k - £30k and earning maybe an extra £1k per month for Halifax... bit of a gamble to give up his job at the age of 25 on the promise of just a 2 year contract. I dunno, I'd want a pretty decent package.
