Decent shout, interesting to see what will happen to Ambrose too but much like Sharp, Howard et al I wonder if he would flourish under our management.

As ive said previously I feel Carsley is way out of our price bracket. At 36 it seems like the gamble just wouldnt be worth it long term. If he accepted realistic Championship wages then I would take him on for a season but if he's wanting any more than 5-6k a week (which he almost definately will), then I feel it wouldnt be worth pursuing him. The likes of QPR and Burnley (who have money/parachute payments) will probably fancy him.
The suggestion of Neil Danns is a much better one although he is a very different sort of player. With Williamson out until November Danns would fill his shoes nicely. I would have a few of the Palace lads if they have the expected fire sale. Danns, Scannell and McCarthy would all be players I would entertain the idea of. Particularly Scannell who I thought was terrific at Hillsborough. McCarthy looks a tough customer but the only problem with him would be keeping him on the pitch all season. Seems to have the Hendo temperement!
Ambrose has been mentioned but I doubt we would pay the transfer fee and his wages are probably disgusting. He will almost definately end up at QPR IMO!
