If he's the right man for DW, that's good enough for me. He was certainly a proper footballer with a positive, committed attitude.

Quite happy with that, are we getting any more assistant managers?

It does seem like we really are going for a clean sweep this time, dont recall us completely changing all the backroom staff for the last few managers

Interesting. Weren't we linked with him as a player a few years back?

Looks like weir is putting together a decent blend of experience in his back room

  • Weir, former centre half
  • Carlsey, former defensive midfielder
  • Owen, fitness coach
  • Morgan, former centre half
  • Ward, former goalkeeper

We may be professional, well organised and very fit. But do we need someone to improve the players' skill, movement and attacking play?

How about the chap on the left?

We still have Cresw......... ahh

Former strikers don't always make the best attacking coaches. Defenders know how strikers should play you know

Assistant - Technical and Assistant -Performance. New here but very much the way in American sports. Now I wonder where Weir got this idea from?

I'm disappointed by this. Weir's total lack of managerial experience could have been offset by the appointment of an experienced Assistant Manager. Instead he's appointed someone even younger, with only 2 years as a coach behind him and promoted to a job he's never done before. A strange choice.

Well we've got the Assistant (Technical) and the Assistant (Performance). Maybe the Assistant (Actually has some management experience) is next on the list. God, some fans just have no patience! ;)

I actually like all these weir-d appointments. We aren't gonna get anywhere going down the normal routes, cos we ain't got a pot to piddle in. May as well go down the "anybody know what the bleeding hell is going on?" route. I'm all for bringing in Batman as Motivational Coach. As long as he unfolds his arms. I draw the line at having Catwoman as physio though.

I think it shows great confidence on his own ability. I think it's a great appointment looking at how he progressed with Coventry. He also knows the division

Now lets not be too hasty with this line drawing. I know plenty of Chelsea fans that would love to see their physio (Eva Carneiro) in a skin tight leather number, mask and heels slinking onto the pitch! To help with that image, here's pics of said physio ( one not at work I assume)

...and I know that she is technically Doctor at the club, not physio, but lets not let accuracy get in the way of a good story. After all we're celebrating the Green 'Un today! :D

Just waiting for the Assistant Manager (Results) to be announced. :)

Well that made me laugh anyway.

Save a fortune in wages if we sack all the coaches as long as we're all really really optimistic. Great stuff.

My word, if only I'd been optimistic we could have been spared Semi-Pro and Quickfix? I think there may be a metaphysical dilemma in there somewhere!!

Isn't Dave Basset still at the Lane? What does he do if not using his experence to guide green managers?
