Well it would be new because all the existing stadium would have been demolished and a new one built in its place on the same land

So by that logic we've already got a three-quarters new stadium because there's only the kop remaining from what was there when I started going. The other three sides have been demolished and rebuilt on the same land.

Slightly off topic I know, but during the celebrations after the Chesterfield game, I sat reflecting on just how many decades I'd been going to the Lane and how many years ahead I'd still be able to attend.

I've never thought about it much before then. It was probably a mixture of thinking how good the season had been, and the family and older Blades that I know who can no longer attend games due to age or infirmity.

So I guess we'll all leave our ground for the last time one day, even if it doesn't leave us. In my case I'm just hoping it's after I've seen our (yet to be born) captain presented with the Premier League trophy.

A new stadium is a new stadium, nothing remains of the old one.

We have a number of stands all wedged together to form a stadium, and each of those stands get modernised periodically. It is not a new stadium.

If we built a new stadium and it was on the same site as the existing one using the car park plus the land where our existing stadium sits our NEW STADIUM could also be called Bramall Lane and it would be as though we never left.

The original post was about Tottenham playing their last game at White Hart Lane, but due to the stadium being built in the same place, and part of the new stadium will encroach onto the original site it could still be called White Hart Lane if they wanted it to be.

So it will be just like they never moved, just modernised

The ground is several hundred metres from White Hart Lane and is actually on the junction of Tottenham High Road and Park Lane. It's a bit like us calling our ground 'London Road' or 'Queens Road".

Exactly, they are just building around the ground and should have one of the best new build stadiums in the country. If the promo video is anything to go by.
