All a learning curve for CW and AK - no real surprises so far for most of us , even CW & AK i would imagine.

They will put i right , i hope however that the `board` back them in the next couple of weeks to get their targets over the line.

The last two results will , hopefully, put a sense of urgency into our recruitment drive.

That's what I'm hoping too.

If there's any positive in this, it's that it might just force the Board's hand to spend a few quid.

Definitely, it's not these last two, games that will define our season, but clearly, we need more quality...on the plus side, and I know Cardiff were cruising at 2-0 up, Ched and Brooks looked lively, might be something in that, particularly away at the top teams.

UTB!

Robbed v Boro [albeit largely outplayed] and Cardiff are top of the table for a reason.
These games won't define our season and we would have done well to get anything. We will have easier games.

Need a bit of pace and flair. We're well organised and held the ball relatively well but appear too nervous in the final 3rd and don't appear to have anybody that can turn a nothing chance into a brilliant solo goal like M-Laing did tonight.

Evans is looking sharper. Sharp and Clarke looked a bit out of sorts tonight.

Their GK made some good stops and I think if that was a home game we would've maybe managed to grab a couple of goals against them tonight. Lacklustre crowd (not us, in general. 17k) didn't help. 26k roaring us on from those corners and free kicks tonight would've helped immensely.

Cardiff are top of the table for a reason? Yeah, because they won 2 games out of 2 mate - that's all. It doesn't mean a thing at this stage of the season. They could be relegated yet. What a stupid thing to come out with.

No it isn't stupid ffs. They've just beat Villa for a start. Warnock knows the league inside out, is gunning for a record promotion and has done fabulous transfer business. They've got power, pace, experience, are strong in the air and brilliantly organised.

2 games in or not, saying they could yet go down is laughable. Since when has Warnock failed so badly with a similar squad of players at this level?

Was always going to be tough against Boro and Cardiff. No shame to lose to them. But like others have said - we need pace/power/championship quality.

All good sides need to kick on and not stand still. I don't think the board has supported Wilder in that aim enough yet.

You must be really sad Warnock isn't our boss then? It only took him 8 seasons to get us to the Prem!

To answer your question:

Crystal Palace 2009/10: Crystal Palace's administrator commented that Warnock was "let go" after telling the administrator he did not have the stomach for the fight to save the club.
Leeds United v2012/13: After a string of defeats and Leeds sitting five points off the relegation zone, Warnock parted company with the club on 1 April 2013.
Crystal Palace 201314: Crystal Palace ending up in the bottom three, Warnock was sacked by the club on 27 December 2014.

Shall I stop now?

Have you had enough facts?

I'm sorry mate, nothing personal. But I deal in facts, not fiction, not superstition, not imagination. Any team in the Championship could be relegated yet. Any team. Some are more likely than others. But to draw a conclusion on any team after 2 games is pure nonsense. Absolute wild speculation at its best.

And I suspect you know that. Or maybe you don't?

We all know that scoring opportunities are going to be at a premium this season. But that is why it's important than ever to be much quicker and more pro-active in the final third.

Having pissed the1st division last season I think wilder and Co wanted to have a look at how we would step up to the higher division ,it's sometimes difficult to know which players can .
Some quick decision s will have to be made so we can use the remainder of the window to bring in a few p layers who will add some championship quality and experience.
Wilder has said he prefers the WInDow to shut before season starts I disagree as the few weeks left gives us the opportunity to plug a few weaknesses.
As I said earlier it's difficult to tell which players will take the step up in class after promotion,it is still a bit early as some players need time to adjust.
Having said that Wilder maybe has a few decisions to make and strengthen accordingly.
When Bassett took us to the premiership
1 division as it was then! Stancliffe ( Capt )
was afforded one game ( 2-0 loss to Crystal palace ) that was it didn't play another game for us ,obviously he was deemed not good enough.Wilder may have a few decisions like that now ,is it a bit early to write any player off, maybe not.
But for sure he's got to add some quality and pace before the window shuts

Agree.

We were so impressive in the Championship that it was fair and reasonable to give most of last seasons players a chance.
We were great on the ball last season but the same players are being closed down quicker meaning it's more difficult to get our passing game together.

Don't worry, Wilder and Knill will be observing and learning what's required.

You've put google to good work there, well done. But I suggest you refer back to my post where I state a 'similar squad of players', meaning comparable quality. I honestly cannot recall the squads he had at his disposal at either Palace or Leeds [dare say you will get busy to educate me on this] , but I would suggest they weren't as good as what he has now. You failed to mention QPR I see where he took the piss with that squad, and although it took him a while with us we rarely looked in trouble during his tenure at this level, so no need for you to respond with a dig about our PL relegation or how he has never coped at the level above.

And as for being 'really sad that he isn't our boss' then no. He was a good manager [eventually] for us but it was always the Warnock show and in all honesty there is a lot I don't miss about him.

I tipped Cardiff for top 6 before a ball was kicked and I see no reason to change that, 2 games in or not. Why do people bother making predictions and backing teams to win leagues if it is all 'nonsense or speculation'? When I backed Chelsea to win the PL last season before the first game, perhaps I would have been better following your logic and not bothering?!

They say respond to the post not the poster so I won't take offence to your snotty jibes, I am a big boy now. But in the interests of fairness and assuming you also have a think skin then please take your superior, patronising tone somewhere else. Nothing personal ;)

I don't think anyone doubts Wilder, but unless he gets the backing to improve the squad we're going to struggle and maybe even flirt with relegation.

He's a very good manager but he can't turn League One players into Championship players, even Jesus couldn't perform that miracle!

Wilder has said he prefers the WInDow to shut before season starts I disagree as the few weeks left gives us the opportunity to plug a few weaknesses.

Think he meant he wishes the PL clubs announce their 25 players squad before the start of the season rather than before 31st August

Learning curve ?
Fuck learning curve.
Anyone could see in May that the strikers who won promotion were gonna struggle in the Championship.
Not rocket science ! Too old , too slow etc.
Typical McCabe "let's see how we do by spending nowt , maybe we'll be ok"

Well , dig deep Kevin , because CW doesn't want just "ok" ........and just now we're not even that !

Some club with brass in pocket will be in for CW sooner or later , so the Board better think on , mark my words.

Bit quick to blame McCabe Wilder has got his budget to spend how he sees fit let's see what happens in the next few weeks.
Wilder already said some clubs are throwing silly money at it and we ain't gonna join em

Make your mind up

Think we need to calm down a bit having read some of the threads this morning. As I said after the Brentford game, we'll have some good days and some bad but I think we'll have enough to stay up. I think the emphasis is on stay up and hopefully consolidate. The last 2 results are hopefully the wake up call to the board and to some of our fans who thought that a team good enough to win div 3 would be good enough to challenge in div 2 without some improvement in terms of quality. The quality I refer to is as I highlighted in my post after Brentford in that players at this level are quicker in thought and movement which I believe many of our players will grow in to but some probably won't, hence the need to bring in that quality. Let's hope CW gets the backing he deserves.

amen.

this is season is going to be learning experience for us as well as the team. because yes of course we want to win every game. no fan or player goes into a match wanting to lose & we have been used to being heavy favourites every week for 6 yrs. but we have got manage our expectations & remember that it 46 game season & i said preseason if i was handed 16th, a fa cup quarter/semi final & 4pts off Wednesday. i would snap your hand off

I'd even take 2 off Wednesday which would still shut them up ;)

I think the board thought they would ride their luck to be honest, I hope these last few results have provided the much needed wake up call.

Maybe. I'd be genuinely interested to know what the owners' plans are league position wise over the next 2 or 3 years, and what ambitions they have and perceive to be realistic.

We need to get use to the idea that we will lose more games than we win this season. We might lose 5 games in a row, which we aren't use to. If we finished 21st its still a decent season.

With the current squad, we aren't finishing top half like some Blades seem to think.

Having sounded negative, I'm confident we ll beat dingles on Saturday.

That's the most polite "fuck off" I've ever received! Probably well deserved too. Fair play to you!

I actually agree with a lot of your points but I still think it's too early to assume that Cardiff will be running away at the top of the league. I must admit though I didn't think we'd get anything there at this stage of the season.

No. I don't like that! We'll be top 10 I think.

I have to question why we weren't in for Mendez-Liang, and if we were, why we couldn't attract him. He came from a poor Lg1 side ffs.

Because most on here would have said "he was here before and he was crap and he's a lower league player with no neck"?
