League 1 Next Season

Sadly, I think next season will be more difficult than this season.

Wolves will be an unknown, but I can see them giving it a real go like we did in our first season down. Also, we'll have direct competition from them in terms of budget as I think their attendances will be similar to ours. I think Bristol C and Peterborough know exactly what is needed to get out of League 1 whereas we're not really quite sure how to do it.

Coming up, I think The Millers will have added incentive to kick our backsides and may well consider themselves worthy of a double promotion.

Then the usual suspects of MK Dons, Swindon etc, I think this season just ended was the best opportunity we'll have for a while. Gutted!

We dont need to worry about the new teams as the 16 teams that have remained in this division have pretty much worked out how to beat us or at least draw with us since November!

On that basis, Morgan as the Wilson Apprentice needs to move away and learn his trade elsewhere!

There will be about 6 teams chasing one automatic promotion spot. Next year, it will be Wolves + 1 other for automatic. The boys from molineux will get 100 points +. That makes it even more difficult for us.

At least we can be safe in the knowledge that they should only be able to use 65% of their revenue for playing staff
I would imagine that would be somewhere in the region of £12 million then.

I remember the last time we played at Molineux in the third division a 2-2 draw in a successful promotion campaign - fecking no chance next season.

All clubs rely heavily on the scraps , the loan players they release , piggies got just enough out of their loan players to squeak staying up
We brought in , well a bag of shite that didnt enhance our squad in any way

We shouldnt struggle as we with the right man should tempt better loan players , but bad planning ineptitude poor use of funds , we had loan players this term that let us down badly
Our main focus is to oust every"forward" on our books and replace them with players who know what a goal looks like, back to basics , put it between those white posty things with the net on it

Relegation is not in our remit as our squad is better than 10/ 11 clubs even being this gash so dont spout bollocks please

we need change, but build on the positives , the young lads who have done quite well, but need fresh ideas ,

Chesterfield came up on the crest of a new ground wave , truth is its still a big gap to jump over
all the 3 relegated clubs are like we were , struggling financially and will sell some high wage players , they got relegated for a reason , like we did, they will struggle , as they dont have big wads of cash we have made 3rd and 5th so saying we are clueless about going up is a bit harsh , yes weve missed out but made 2 play offs, we are pissed off right now , but fact is there were 19 teams worse than us

I don`t disgaree that Wolves should go up automatically next year, but then given their resources and players they should have been challenging for a PO spot at the least in the Championship this year.

On the bright sde, its a close trip for me next year...

Unlikely given they are still in Parachute Payment mode. Their income is going to ubstantially outsrtip every single club in the division.

Sure they may have some players on PL contracts, and they will be off like a shot. Our problem was we had non-championship standard players on Championship/PL contracts.

Budget isn't their problem with the parachute payments it's convincing players to stay and turn out against crap like SUFC.

Well he hasnt stayed.
The league will be so much better stronger next season. We need a new boss announcing asap so they can bring in their own players. Instead we will be waiting till the last moment and sign players no one else wants.

2010/11 is a Premier League season, they may well have already halved their wage budget.

Championship players they want to move on probably also command fees.

A £16m parachute payment in L1 is an absolutely huge advantage.

I'll be amazed if they don't go straight back

contracts mean they cant , like we couldnt get rid of 3/4 year contract players and their wages , it took us 3 seasons to get just above half to 14,5 m from the 26 million wages we paid in our year in the "sun"
