There's no leadership on the pitch. It was flagged by Wilder yet he's done absolutely nothing to address it. What's worse, the admission that he hadn't spoken to his players because he wants to calm down indicates that there's no leadership off the pitch either. What we needed was a manager to go in straight after and sort this mess out. What we had was a manager hiding away from his responsibilities.

I'm not convinced he knows what he's doing.

We play 4-2-3-1 all pre-season and he states we're going to play a pressing game. We do so for 25 and 20 minutes in the first couple of games (relatively successfully), then that gets completely tossed by the wayside. He's reduced the pitch to play this formation and this game and yet he's doing neither. Why are we suddenly playing 4-4-2? Is it just because he managed to sign the world class Leon Clarke after coaxing him away from European champions Bury?

Nor is he seemingly able to get his message and instructions over to his players.

He' s signed players to fit a system then signs one player and all that gets thrown in the bin.

Early days but I'm not seeing or hearing anything that inspires me with any confidence that he can turn things around.
