The manager's job is under pressure because he and his team have performed poorly. They have moved the club backwards.

I care little about his comments re: the supporters. At best you can say they've been blown up out of proportion and taken in selective context by the author of the article. The comment Adkins made was one of resignation that he will be getting a lot of criticism from fans who always expect success. He's right.....however that doesn't mean the supporters are in any way wrong to be that way inclined or that he shouldn't be removed from his position.

The article makes valid points in totally the wrong way in my humble opinion. Was still a good read though.

I think all those who believe what Adkins said post match 'wasn't that bad' are missing the point.

The guy from day one has been a talking management / leadership manual. Here was the opportunity to show some true leadership qualities and admit to HIS own mistakes accept responsibility and ask the players to look at themselves and their performances. But he didn't. Instead he looked out for others that could take the blame and so ease his pain.

I am sure we've all worked for guys like this and I must admit I thought it was a style that had generally disappeared.

John Cleese years ago used to make management / leadership training videos for a company called Video Arts. Adkins example of poor leadership on Sunday would have made a great addition to Cleese's catalogue.

Brilliant article, bang on the money.

Like most of us I was encouraged by his appointment going on past achievements , but now think he must have just got lucky. How can anyone take him seriously? I like the Frank Spencer analogy , but I think David Brent is more appropriate. His cliched interviews make my skin crawl .

I went to Blackpool on a cold January night when the team played like they had just been introduced to each other on the Golden Mile that afternoon . We were beyond wank and he blamed the pitch. Get rid.

If it is Wilder I just hope the job isn't too big for him , but it will be mighty refreshing to have a leader who we can identify with and rally around.

Finally listened to the interview and after reading this site for the last few days was expecting comments akin to Hitler at Nuremberg and instead got Boris Johnson on Have I got News for You.

Soooo disappointed.

But if the manager makes you think of Borris when you hear him speak then it truly is time to open the exit door.

I thought it was a great article on 2 counts;

1. It accurately reflected the facts.
2. It was written in such a way that respects Sheffield United, the clubs proud history & it's values.

Unfortunately there are too many people presently associated with the club who have either forgotten or have little respect for these values.

A decent article but a bit of a reverse ferret as the Prince is now the full pantomime villain only a couple of weeks after someone "close" to him had confided with the author. Or maybe he's just heard the latest rumour?

The assertion that Wilder had crossed the line with the Orince now looks a bit silly if Wilders authority has brought him back into the fold so to speak.

You have to bear in mind TVFJS quoted another one of those sources when claiming this a few weeks ago.

"CHRIS WILDER will almost certainly be in charge of Sheffield United for the last time in their end-of-season fixture at Bristol City. The Blades boss has threatened to quit if a struggle for control of the club is not settled soon. Now a reliable source tells ViewFromTheJohnStreet.com that one half of that partnership, if he wins control, plans to part with Wilder anyway for ‘crossing the line’."

"Almost certainly" plus someone's going to sack him on taking full contrrol. Okay.

It's always seemed a bit silly to think either of them would willingly throw Wilder out because of some, on the whole, respectful and reasonable comments about wanting some clarity and investment.

You don't get any success in business by giving assets away.

I must admit, I'm a bit surprised by the article because, generally speaking, I think TVFTJS is pretty good. There was nothing in anything Wilder said that would cause either party to take offence or feel he'd stepped over the line - so it just didn't add up really.

The only thing I can think of is that it was a bit of sensationalist journalism to try and raise the profile of the piece maybe? If so, that's rather a shame.

I've given up reading this site because if they can find a way to put a negative spin on anything they will do it, sometimes going to ridiculous extremes.

I'm sure they only do it to provoke a reaction and fish for clicks but it's just not my cup of tea.

Long live my positive bladey bladeyness ;)

Does anybody really take VFJS seriously? Another piece of sh*t stirring fiction that is an amusing read.
