The write up was spot on and the quotes were painful.
They were frustrating to hear at the time but reading them back now they are infuriating!

Its a harsh but fair assessment. He has underachieved but not my as much as some think. Its his demeanour, crap interviews, poor or indifferent signings bar Sharp, and his recent attack on he fans that might well be the last straw. It looks like the writings on the wall to be honest, but who knows. I defended him to the hilt but his recent attack on the fans is still bugging me and I think the board now have more reason to pull the trigger than they did last time last week.

It's a lovely counterbalance to WHF's critique of Adkins' interviews. Do they do that after every match? I particularly like the "Ooh Nigel" Frank Spencer. Just needs a bit of photoshop

A positive peice about positive nige...........straight for the jugular but a true reflection of a disastrous season

All I saw was just another reactionary hatchet job. Nothing better (or worse) than what gets written on here.

Same owd. It's hardly insightful, just piss and wind.

I do find it off that people dish out some vile abuse on here and from the stands. But if Nige, 10 mins after the game, gets a tiny bit lemon, then it's like he's the devil incarnate.

I agree as much as I dislike him, he was just deflecting. Let's face it he had nobody else to come to but us this time

Hyperbolic Cut'n'Paste, but it will appeal to the precious flowers so offended by Adkins.

Personally, I am more concerned with matters relating to play on the pitch than how his interviews are interpreted.

"Lashes out", "bitter broadside"? There are some precious little flowers around. I think he made a pig's ear out of a shitty situation this season, but is what he said any worse than Warnock's "piss off to Meadowhall" comment?

Ah but Warnock is a Blade you see, so he can tell us all to piss off. :)

I'm happy for Adkins to look me in the eye and tell me I'm a thunderous bell-end. Just so long as he wins a few a games.

You're still a thunderous bell end JD and we've won fuck all.

Just thought I would state it for the record. ;)

It's been a shit season but I don't get the bile-flecked outrage...I heard the interview and didn't think it was anything to get excited about.

Agreed. The season has been a disaster regardless of a negative interview. There's been far more pissed me off this season than that.

Take your point but there is a distinct difference between it coming from the paying customer and the professional who's wages are paid by the said customer. The customer is always right...... Even when they are wrong

His interviews unfortunately mirrors the play on the pitch . I just find it sad that we have come to this . It's not being stuck in league 1 , but we are still disjointed and look like we just don't know we're we are going . Adkins IMO has not help himself , The fans , and more so the club. The players have not helped Adkins , but he cannot help himself .

I would love to know the true picture of all this mess , which would cut out all the bad press and speculation. I have respect for the guy but he does seem to be a dead man walking , with Sunday at the lane just being a big embarrassment .

Just find it unbelievable , but having a pop at the fans is a sign of desperation especially when you are looking for allies , respect and some sanity .

UTB

It was a shit interview not because he made a slight dig about the fans but because it was his chance to finally be honest about how badly his players had let the club down. He could call the fans a bunch of Dickheads and I wouldn't care if he we were top of the league.

What frustrated me was that he never gave an overall assessment of why he thought we had done so appallingly. He waffled on about not being able to sign players and how he has moved out 25 players but failed to give a genuine reason to where he felt things had gone wrong. Even Clough admitted he had left us short at centre half all season in his last interview

Reckon the interview was the means for the eruption of Vesuvius, a bit like the 2nd goal was on Sunday.

It's OK saying the interview "wasn't that bad", just like Scunthorpe's second "wasn't that bad". It's more about things coming to a head & coalescing in that interview & in that goal though, isn't it?
