Danny Wilson believes the Blades can return to the Premiership in the not too distant future, but appreciates solid foundations must be laid first.

His appointment was controversial in the eyes of a minority of Unitedites, but Wilson says United's ambitions come before any personal accolades and he is adamant he can win over any doubters:

"This can't be a personal thing, when the season starts and the fans see the players on the field it is not about Danny Wilson, it is about trying to get this club back to where it belongs, and I think that is back into the Premiership because that is what it is geared up for.

"I can look forward with a great determination about helping Sheffield United win games and that is key, as is winning in a certain manner. Everybody wants a winning team and to be entertained and hopefully we can achieve that. We will all be judged when we starting kicking a ball in anger.

He can win me over easy .......................... Promotion 1st go.

A good start for me would be to stand up to McCabe straight away. No selling of Slew, Maguire or Harriott.

If either them are gone in the next two weeks, god help McCabe and Wilson

I agree with Sheffielder, McSell can't have it both ways, if we are going to use our youth then we need to say no to any bids for them this summer (and that includes Lowton). Will start to have some respect for DW if he achieves that. The worry is we might be stuck with the high paid failures from last season as no-one will take them off our hands so the only salable assets are some of the kids.

That's on the Twitter feed too. First bids are rarely accepted in any negotiation so pretty meaningless really.

Fine. The lad's raw but has potential. We are deep in the sheiss so I would accept 2mill, appearance money and a sell on clause, provided the money is used to bring in a couple of players

According to RS tonight, bid for Slew turned down

Someone sent our tweet to Seth earlier, he spent a few hours unable to confirm it...

I'm assuming later on he eventually did?

and a player or 2 coming back our way-riisse for a start-but lets hope slew is here come august

If the copnference had been scheduled for this weekend there would have been a good 6 to 7 times more people than the 500 or so that was actually there. Don't forget that most people were at work or doping the school runs.

There is talk of a protest prior to the first Saturday home game of the season. I think the message will be drilled home to KM, the board and his sons should this happen!!

Love United, Hate KM and DW

Love United - end of!

I was at the protest although only took a silent part , i felt the need for McCabe to see people are not happy with the appointment , i can not walk away from the club this is not a option , however now it would be even more enjoyable if Danny does well . he could start by doing the double over Chezzy and the pigs .

Great idea, young team inexperienced team, lets great them with a protest before the season starts.

Totally agree, I was also there in a not so vocal as most manner, but I also feel it's important to show McCabe when we are not happy these days, he seems to be getting even more arrogant and some of his remarks showed that he didn't seem to like the fact that fans are now willing to show their displeasure towards his decisions. I once believed a lot of what he said and though I don't think anything he has got wrong was intentionally intended to harm the club, he can't wholly admit that since coming down from the Premiership his decisions and appointments have brought the club here (a half arsed radio apology is not enough, face the fans). DW's appointment and him being McCabe's man reeks of him being a yes man to myself, but as others have said he can start to win me over and prove me wrong by standing up and saying no to offers and the sale of, Harriot, Macguire, Slew, Lowton and most of the others progressing through the Academy.

I was at work, but although I didn't want Wilson - based on his past record, not who he played for or managed - unfortunately I wouldn't have passed the knuckle lowness test to have been in the car park.

I wasn't doping the school run either.

Good job. Supplying drugs to schoolkids is a very serious offence!

? I'd have thought nearly everyone would consider it "controversial".

Controversial-yes,but if a minority of so-calleds turn up at the first homegame with pitchforks raised then its embarrsing for all of the blades fans to see and hear.
What good will it do?

Did another few hundred turn up after we'd had a quick chat with you? :)

Personally, I think the message has already been well and truly drilled home... Making the start to our season a joke is hardly going to change the appointment other than further harming the image of the club to prospective future employee's (players and managers).
