Just looking at the EPL table.

Despite being utter gash last season, and my concern for much of the season at being the worst Premier League team ever, we finished on 23 points and -43 goal difference.

At the moment, Norwich have 22 points and are -56. Spurs at home to finish.

Watford have 23 points and are -42. Away at Chelsea to finish.

Assuming that they both lose their last game, which seems realistic, then both teams will be statistically worse than we were last season.

Scant consolation given the utter dross we served up last season, but thought you might be interested.

For all our diabolically bad start, there were far worse teams that have had no way near the muck thrown at them that we got.

For all the talk of second season syndrome, Leeds are as near as damnit replicating our outcome.

They got an undeserved draw yesterday, to add to a number of undeserved points they've taken this season to be honest.

Burnley need to eke out something at Villa. Leeds' record away in London is dreadful and Brentford are on decent form.

Leeds will lose Rafinha and Phillips and I'm not convinced the rest are all that. Bamford had one purple patch.

Burnley would make it a poor bunch to come down and from a self interest perspective they might be the best for us coming into the Championship. Everton deserve it after the 90s but they are so we'll bankrolled they would have the backing to make it a procession.

Still hoping Leeds drop. They were so smug before and if they stay up it is going to feel that it is by default then nay great achievement. They've been embarrassed in so many matches.

If we'd have had fans in the ground we'd have been a bit better off too, Norwich and Watford have no such excuses.
Totally agree, COViD derailed our first season in the Prem and totally fucked our second season an absence of fans at BDTBL was a major factor in our poor showing.FFS we won at Old Trafford and Goodson when has that happened before in the same season?

Mad stats actually

Midweek/Night games away at Watford, Swansea, Blackpool, Sunderland.
QPR New Year’s Day.
Bastards!

So you think having fans in the stadium with the same team may have enabled us to stay up?

By that logic, we had fans in the entire season last season but only finished 5th, surely we should have been finishing top if you applied your logic to it?
