OK if we lose at Cardiff I admit we're almost certainly down.

But if we manage to sneak a win, and other results go our way, it certainly won't be over yet. Beat Preston and a chink of light would emerge.

I fully expect us to lose at Cardiff. The football gods seem to have it in for us this year. But I don't understand why everyone is writing our obituary while there's still hope left. Cardiff might have an off day like QPR did at the weekend.

I've looked at the remaining fixtures for us and the other sides down there and in my absolute best case scenario, where we win 4, draw 1 and lose 1 from our last 6 (wildly optimistic I know) we still go down on goal difference. We are literally hanging by our finger nails and only a disastrous run of form for at least two other sides would give us a chance of staying up.

We have left it far too late. Yes while ever it is possible there is still hope but whatever way I look at it (optimistically or realistically) we are down. If United stay up it will be one of the greatest comeback I have ever seen!

Scunny beat QPR, and I'm sure there are more strange end-of-season results to come. But after the Boro game it will take a lot to get up for this one. Anything other than a win tonight and our heads will fall, IMO. Lose tonight and we'll probably lose to Preston too. We're down if we don't win this.

Set of twats those footballing gods are.

Appointing crap managers, selling good players and replacing them with shite, making us bow and scrape before pesky agents so that we have to pay top dollar to keep our own "not very good" players. If only there was some way of appeasing the gods so we didn't have to do it!

Although it's not AT Cardiff tonight so all is not lost.

Just had a go on that BBC predictor and put in 3 Home wins (Cardiff, Bristol City and Barnsley), a draw at Preston, and defeats at Reading and Swansea ......and we went down ON GOAL DIFFERENCE -1 behind Palace!!! So a must win tonight (again) if only to prolong the agony!

Not likely...but there is still a chance. The performances in the last 3 home games suggest we can win our remaining home games, starting tonight. This would mean confidence is high for Saturday against a Preston team smarting from a midweek hammering at 'Real Doncaster'...... (nurse, pass me my medication) : )

FFS give it up, we're down and out with no hope of survival whatsoever, so please stop with the if's what's and maybe's. Can't even say I admire your optimism because we're so far fucked that what could have been construed as blind faith earlier can now only be described as blind stupidity.

We've won what, 9 games all season? And we're a worse side now so get the rose tinteds off and get ready for a season or ten in division 3 because that's where we are.....FACT :eek::eek:

If palace only pick up 4 points between now and the end of the season then it's doable. Of course that's only doable if we pick up at least 12, which never in a month of sundays can i see us doing.

The definition of madness is to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome. I think some of us are veering into the realms of madness.

If madness is having my ear glued to the radio tonight in hope of a win, then yes, i'm quite bonkers:)
