Lap of honour

Yup

Sussed

Tried them when i got home but I couldn’t catch the mower and there are two left feet - also I uprooted my recently planted lovely bedding plants by constantly and pointlessly slide tackling them ….
You're doing it all wrong, you need to hire a gardener then stand around pointing at stuff he needs to do...

Yes. We stayed until all the players finished their 'lap of appreciation'. I understand why fans are disillusioned with everything but can't people just accept we aren't good enough at this level? The players got a good reception from the few fans who remained (most of it reserved for Bash I think)

At the end of the day I'd rather support a poorly resourced team than a winning team with 115 financial irregularity charges hanging over them, As I see it, it's a hollow victory and waking up to Radio 5 eulogising over them was nauseating,
Unfortunately the "noisy minority" cannot accept we are just not good enough. Sadly it would take 100's of millions to become good enough as the gap is so large and growing every season.
Peoples disillusionment/frustration etc turns to anger. This anger then seeks out scapegoats and boy haven't we had so many of those this season. If we got rid of all those who took some stick on this forum this season we'd need a completely new squad, management team, backroom staff, board, shop employees etc.

Anybody actually stick around for this?

I left when the added time kicked in but I’d be interested to know what sort of reception the players got.
I didn’t, overhead Baldock say in the United video that hardly anyone was left at the end.

Deservedly they didn’t get applauded. Worst team to enter the Premiership, albeit not on points but in so many other ways.

Agree with all you say Grey Blade , but it's a difficult situation in this modern era ?. I'm 73 and obviously will not see United win anything in my time . :( . After last years semi at Wembley I found myself in a railway carriage full of celebrating Man City fans , they were from Rotherham !!. They got more and more mega pissed as we travelled ( as would we lol ) but I couldn't understand their joy ?. They had only beaten little us and had already won ( cheated ) to umpteen trophies ?. I asked the senior man amongst them how he felt having more or less bought everything , I even reminded him of how they got out of div.3 by the scruff of their neck not that long ago.... his response was ..... Brilliant ,don't give a toss... and there you have it ... be owned by a multi billionaire / country ... or be an also ran :(. This is the state of our game now its run solely by the Prem.Brigade .. money first , f*** morals.

And in 15 years, your wish will come true....not the 100 million part, the last part. We'll be lucky to get 100 million monopoly dollars!!

Not so much a lap of honour but a stiff upper lip of honour for most supporters this year.

The fans have stuck by the club this year through all the misery. No other team I know would have stood for it. There would have been demonstrations, shoes off in the car park, banners saying get rid of the owner etc. In a dour season the fans are the only ones who can hold their head up high. Being right down at the bottom the only way now is up (apart from up to the PL without some vast change)

I agree with a lot of this but I don’t think the players (at least some of them) should get a free pass.

Anel and Souza have been singled out and rightly so. Been phoning it in all season.

Others haven’t taken responsibility and let their heads go down far too easily, hiding behind a supposed “lack of leaders”. They should all be leaders, no matter what level.

Relegation was always the probable outcome, abject humiliation and weekly 4/5/6 goal stuffings are a different story. Maybe a lap of honour round a virtually empty ground is a timely reminder for some playing here next season that there are standards the fans demand (even if it’s just giving 100% effort).

For what it’s worth I hung around as long as I had time for after the final whistle to pay respects to players who have put some effort in this season and those that have given us some great times in the past.

That said I don’t blame anyone who decided they would rather spend their free time enjoying a pint in the sun than applauding the least enjoyable season in living memory. Many will also have wanted to show their dissatisfaction to the absentee owner who threw the towel in mid July but happily took our season ticket money.

Got a good reception, especially Baldock, Norwood and Bash. Souza climbed into crowd and gave his boots away to someone at the bottom of the kop near the goal.
from my position on the south stand, I thought that was Mcatee, good grief the sun must have got to me.

The season ticket has increased general sales no complaints from Blades fans. how times have changed 10 years ago they would be in the car park protesting.Wilder said in his post-match interview it's not toxic. I bet it will be if we have a bad start to next season.

Stayed, was in family stand near away fans. Ground was quite empty. Before game leaving players got good round of applause and Basham got a song. After bash, baldock and Norwood again got a good round of applause and briefly bash got a song. For the rest, all seemed a bit half hearted, like most matches. Robbo jogged behind rest to catch up and got a fairly decent applause.

Nope

Just a new owner with a different attitude and a plan

Everything cascades from there .

motd doing the same again and only briefly mentioning the 115 ffp charges that have enabled city to win the premier league 4 times in a row its pathetic theyve overspent and theyve cheated their way to those titles but the media always choose to ignore it
I was listening to 5 Live in the car the other week and they were talking about how they feel City don't get the credit they deserve from the wider football 'family'

Talk about tone deaf.

What you're missing in all that is saying goodbye to three players who helped us in the best seasons we ever had.
This season has been utter shite. If that's enough for people to ignore three of our best servants from previous seasons, that's up to them.

I don’t think anybody ignored them - they got a great reception when they were presented to the crowd in the build up. Maybe more would have stuck around if that they hadn’t been wheeled out pre match

The majority decided they’d had enough though and left before the final whistle….. I can’t really blame them.

That's fine everybody makes their own choice.
I didn't see any players before hand, so the end was the time to do it for me.
Lots won't have seen bash and Baldock at any point. That's their choice, but a pity imo.

This is the first time in ages I got an email saying Season Tickets are on general sale ? Usually they are all gone before that ?

After 2 home wins in 19 games how we still averaged 30k this season says we are suckers for punishment.
Lost all the teams leaders through injuries and it meant in most games we were rudderless. Sadly too many games the lack of direction and leadership was the most blindingly obvious problem

I applauded them. Again, not sure why, but it felt the right thing to do. If I had booed, it would’ve meant I had inconvenienced myself deliberately just to show how annoyed I was. I would feel like those weird people you see on the news who go down to the courts to spit at vans they think contain serial killers or paedophiles.

Agree mate, better off going home than waiting half an hour to boo a load of young men walking around some grass 😂

I clapped Bash, Baldock and Norwood pre-match as they deserve it for what they have done for the club.

I fucked off with 30 minutes still left to play. Most of this squad apart from Blaster and Hamer deserve nothing from me and can get in the fucking bin.
