Lafferty's kicking

to all the people moaning - i only spoke about his kicking, nothing else. he is a very good athlete, and i think he is good defensively but makes a shit ton of mistakes with the ball at his feet. that's all. calm the fuck down

He isn't a weak link at all. He's a crucial part of a successful team, whom without we leak goals like there's no tomorrow and are thus no longer a successful team.
Even in a good side there is a weak link- Lafferty is ours. End of.doesnt mean we aren't going up

Kicking is something rugby players do, and at a stretch, goalkeepers.

If a footballer's problem is his 'kicking', then he's got serious problems....

you've all taken this out of hand when i was just mentioning how poor his kicking is when he's been playing for a premier league club! im not saying we should replace him in the summer, or that he shouldnt be in the squad, just that sometimes it lets us down when he gets it wrong. like when the ball went high up in the air and he just tried to control it using the bottom of his foot. as a professional he should know that isn't how you control the ball.

Why the fucking hell after a good performance and a great away win at tough opposition to take us clear at the top of the league do have to break our necks to find a weak link. We didn't have a fucking weak link and if you watched the games when Lafferty was missing we struggled down the left badly. Blades don't half piss me off sometimes. As for looking to replace him in the summer ,have you not noticed hes just signed a contract ?

Great post . Sums it up for me .

My post was more aimed at bladers

Only we could sign a footballer who can't kick.

FFS. GERRITSORTEDYOONITED!

he looks just the sort to make the step up if required to the championship (land of the giants)

Perhaps yesterday showed that Lafferty contributes more than we have given him credit for. We were a lot more vulnerable our left side and the team as a whole looked poorer. Whilst going forward Lafferty doesn't look great, he is good defensively. I may have missed this, but was Hussey injured? If not I guess he has played his last game for the club.

Dunno if he's injured. Why couldn't we have played O'Connell as LWB instead of Done? With Bash, Wright and EEL at CB. O'Connell has a good cross on him, and has decent pace too. I thought it would've been a no brainer for that to happen

Hussey injured his shoulder in a u23s game, don't know if that is the injury that is keeping him sidelined

Going forward he isn't our best player, however defensively he's solid and will prove to be a decent signing from Wilder, we've missed him in games he hasn't played.

From what i've heard, Lafferty wouldn't have made any difference yesterday whatsoever. It will be good to have him back Tuesday though and thanks for stepping in, Matty Done, I appreciate you. :)

I appreciate Done and, if Lavery is out for a while, I hope he is given another chance up front. Maybe he doesn't score many but he creates so much and causes all sorts of problems for the opposition by harrying and closing them down. I would never play him on the left side though!

Spot on!

I'm not his biggest fan but boy did we miss him yesterday. Done was crap and totally ineffective .both defending and attacking. Something really you have to blame the manager for . Not really dones fault as he was out of position.

Think Lafferty is underestimated. Think Done should never be played anywhere at the back. Think we'd have won yesterday if that change had not been forced.

Really? We only drew because Done was left back? Both wing backs had terrible games yesterday but Done was no worse than Freeman. Defensively Freeman wasn't tight enough to his man and every single time allowed the cross to come into our box. I'm not defending Dones performance but let's be honest why would we have won? Where were the 3 centre halves when they scored? Trust me Laffertys been caught out exactly the same a few times this season.
I accept plenty don't like him and we all know he's no wing back but it's becoming to easy to shift the entire blame on him and excuse others

The thing about lafferty is he plays the lwb role perfectly apart from his final ball. He knows exactly where to be on the pitch which is why it's a struggle to watch Done, who simply does not have a clue.

He still looks a little nervous but doesn't hide. Had a nightmare first half against Charlton but a storming 2nd half. Let's hope he's still settling and there is more to come

There goal was a combination of eel trying to do to much and giving the ball away, when he should have cleared it , then dones inability to stop the cross coming in. It was our own undoing. They were a terrible side, if they had been any better, we would have lost.
