Let's go for it and play Harry Chapman. He may or may not be good defensively, but he's left footed and he'll be a real threat going forward. He's got to be a better option then Done who (IMO) doesn't really give us anything at LWB.

Feel it's the best way to get the most suitable personnel for this game into the team. Would've been the same if Lafferty was available. Could also be our best option to go direct. Don't think Oldham offer much out wide either, in fact I think they might have been playing 4-3-3 themselves. Would've said Duffy or O'Shea in a 4-4-2 diamond or maybe Lafferty (but now O'Connell) LWB in 3-5-2 but really think we should get Lavery up there with Hanson, and obviously Sharp.
If Duffy's fit, he plays. Don't think Wilder would drop him unless it's forced or he has a serious dip in form.

You want Chapman at LWB?

Taking the pitch into account I'd go for;

---------------------Moore---------------

-------EEL---Wright----Basham---

--Freeman---------------------JOC---

--------Carruthers-----Fleck--------

------------------O Shea-----------------

---------Sharp----------Lavery-------

Oldham aren't Real Madrid. Any member of our squad could play LWB and we should still beat them.

Personally though, I like the idea of O'Shea sitting in there.
Play Flynn. He always looked as thick as fuck to me so I reckon if we just dragged him into the changing room and put a Blades kit on him he'd go out and play for us, slightly half heartedly and neshly, unless we told him it's the FA Cup in which case he'd have a blinder.

Bout time really, most on this forum without seeing any of em kick a ball could get into that squad

Lafferty called up, gets injured on international duty
Done LB on that potato field at Oldham - drop 3pts
Next 8 games getting cut wide open down the left

Get up tomorrow, fall down stairs, get up walk out front door and get run over by a Sinclair C5, on way to hospital in ambulance and get blown up by a meteorite.

Not going to happen is it.

Why is everybody dropping Duffy? He's been our best midfielder recently.
Best midfielder in our best midfield for years is John Fleck.

Duffy has always tried to do something even when the chips are down and I think he could be worth keeping for atleast one season in the championship irrespective of his age.

Why I didn't involve him in my team was purely down to him just coming back from an injury, playing on an absolutely diabolical pitch, needing to keep players as fresh as possible and we have more than capable replacements to do so.

Admittedly I don't see players in training or know how fit any player is so it's obviously upto Wilder but it won't stop me from putting my two penneth in on a football forum.

I also want to keep Coutts fresh for the Millwall game as I think he's looked a bit jaded recently.

Yes why not based on what others have said? He's a left footed winger and would be great going forward. Done doesn't fill me with confidence defensively and we've no idea how O'Shea will do there. That's my point, we'd be weaker defensively but better going forward.

That said, I think playing O'Connel there and bringing Wright back is probably the best option mate.

First of all, Chapman is rightfooted. He's only just come back from injury so the demands of playing LWB would probably be too much for him, especially as it's a position he's not accustomed to.

I don't know what others have said but from what i have SEEN, Chapman has basically been the understudy to Duffy, playing in the positions Duffy usually fills. You wouldn't want Duffy at wing-back so i don't see how playing Chapman at wing-back would work.

However, i do agree that JOC should probably fill the spot, not a bad option bringing Wright in, not bad at all.

Yes my mistake, I had him down as a left footer. His preferred position is wide midfield though and he seems to me to have spent most of his time playing wide and mainly on the left when he's played for us so I never saw him as a Duffy replacement, more as a winger. Anyway just a thought, I trust Chris to call it right.
