Anyone think there is a serious lack of passion shown by quite a few players in our team? We seem to turn up and try and win with minimal effort and it takes for the other team to score to actually make an attempt to get something out of the game.

Not good enough.

Not at all, we're in the 3rd division and have 3rd division players, so every now and then you have to expect a 3rd division performance.

Couldn't agree with this more, no heart, no care, no bite! I miss hard hitting challenges and a good bit of bite from previous years, that we havnt had for a long time. Work effort of the lads seems so under par, any team that comes against us that puts themselves about and works hard seems to beat us.

3rd division should influence the technical ability not the work effort. If anything the work ethic should be higher to make up for the lack of talent

If you aren't very good you can stand still or you can run around, you still won't be very good so sorry mate, for me I just don't think we're very good and sometimes when we don't run around it just highlights the fact.

Works for me Small. I can handle watching crap footballers, its to be expected. But crap footballers who don't graft ......

Computer says no.

I know we're in the 3rd division and I know quite a few of our players aren't good enough but you can't knock a player for effort. Flynn for example, I know he's very limited and isn't very good but he does try. On the other hand, Doyle IMO puts insufficient effort in and isn't good enough and it is infuriating.

Problem with bad players is that sometimes they look like they're not trying simply because they're bad players. Seriously, I'd hazard a guess that none of the players walked off the pitch today thinking that they'd given less than 100%. Fact that 100% of not very much is.....well....not very much doesn't mean they aren't trying. They just aren't very good, that's why they're in the 3rd division.

I believe the key word is 'thinking'
From what I have seen this season there are not that many of them that do think or anticipate the next ball.
They seem incapable of working out the next move, or running into spaces or doing things that certainly Championship players and above seem to take for granted!

i think lack of passion/effort is the unforgiveable sin in football.
England players get accused of it every tournament.

as for blades its hard to tell sometimes but grafting and passion certainly win you matches sometimes, and a bittle of lady luck aswell. down the years when we've succeded we've always had a lot of passion.
