That’s because he is a kid, cut him some slack, he’s still growing! He always tries to do the simple things rather than trying to force something which I like in a defender.
He needs to bulk up a bit though IMO. Still looks like a kid.
Think that's spot on, he does look nervous.. Goes for the easy option and some of his passing etc not gr8.. But he very young and hopefully one for the future when he settles into the role.. Good luck young un..He’s alright. I think he’s got a footballers brain, looks like he’s had a good footballing education from our academy. But, he’s raw, nervous, which is completely understandable. He’s in the team through injuries, I’m sure Hecky and co would blood him in if the pressure was off, but as it is we’re competing for a playoff place!
You can also clearly see the majority of Barnsley's play was down his side yet they didn't exactly have any clear cut chances and he dealt with them as well as anyone else, and obviously didn't concede any goals. I honestly believe (and hope) he has a long future with us.View attachment 132700
I'm surprised at the comments perceiving Kyron as nervous as I see him as very calm and composed for his age, similar to how Harry looked when he came through. He's got a big future and there's good reason why Chelsea et al are keeping tabs on him.
He had the 3rd most touches of any Blade today (63) just behind Norwood (64) and Osborn (65) and as you can see from the graphic the majority of our play went down the right, which suggests his teammates have every confidence in his abilities and don't shy away from him or giving him responsibilities
Very, very shaky first half, lost the ball numerous times and they attacked down his flank a lot. Slow to get back into position after attacking. Lucky to not get hooked at half time IMO. Much improved second half and as other said won his personal battles, and actually got us on the front foot a couple of times...
It's patronising for anyone to suggest he was man of the match.Slightly unnecessary/patronising response.
An easy shout for MOTM today, well done Gordon
Did you deliver him?I've known ky since he was born
Can't agree with that at all. Our weak links in the first half were Egan (again) and MGW. Both were awful, Kyron was fine. Kyron's performance is always going to be directly affected by whoever he is next to, and Egan has been poor lately (and no, he's not been poor due to playing alongside Kyron, he's just been poor full stop). It's patronising for anyone to suggest he was man of the match.
If you look at every player equally, then he was our weak link (physically) in the 1st half.
Looked a bit out of his depth but in the 2nd half he improved, overall he was decent.
Our man of the match was probably MGW. He wasn't that good in the 1st half but looked more up for it 2nd half.
If you patronise him treating him like he's a little novice kid with no experience....then he did play well today.
He's one for the future and these matches (before his time) are giving him the best education.
He really wasn't bad in the first half at all. I honestly cannot get my head around this opinion. I watched him really closely from that side of the pitch. He never looked in trouble.
The only point I can see any reality in is that once I did see him struggling to get back into position after being caught high up the field.
At half time I thought he had been one of our best 3 players, along with J Robinson & Sharp.

I think you could say this about almost every Blade in the first half, he definitely wasn't alone in his hurried approach and attempts to move it quickly. Whether that was our tactic or no one was confident enough to hold on to the ball, who knows.I thought his touch and passing was mixed too and quite hurried. He got forward once and did well initially but his cross was really poor and miles behind everyone. I do not think he was dreadful but they did have most of their attacks down that side as Gage mentioned on SUTV. When he gets it he seems to want to move it on quite quickly when he has it and I do not see the composure others have seen
I have just done the pod and Webding agreed with me. He felt that he was one of our weaker players first half. They played on his shoulder and he let his man in once and conceded a corner on the stretch. He also let Morris come down between him and Osborn and always seemed on the stretch to get back. Hope I am wrong and he goes on to have a great career and these posts get shoved down my throat!
I thought he was the weak link first half. He did get better 2nd half and ended the game more confidently. Man of the match was ridiculous though. There were 3 better defenders - RND, Robinson and Osborn - before we even look at other players - although granted not many others played that well either!
And he had a left footed midfielder on his right who was about half the size of Morris. And they thought unlikely to be much help.I think you could say this about almost every Blade in the first half, he definitely wasn't alone in his hurried approach and attempts to move it quickly. And the fact most of the attacks were down his side werent because he was poor but because Barnsley were targeting him as the inexperienced teenager that he is.

There is NEVER a right time to play youngsters. If you are under pressure then you need experience (basically what you have just said) ; If you are not under pressure then why change a winning team?I do feel for him. He’s a youngster, but this is the wrong time for him as the pressures on somewhat.
Only Walker, who is now a World Class RB and by and far the best player we’ve produced was blooded in at a critical time.
The others, who went on to good or great things were usually when we had no pressure or acceptance of relegation.
It’s pretty clear that opponents are targeting that flank with Gordon in the side but he’s improving with every game. Pass completion and getting back after turnovers need a bit of work but I want us to play academy players so I’m happy he’s been given a chance. Fingers crossed we have a future star. It's patronising for anyone to suggest he was man of the match.

MGW is always the player who can create chances from nothing. He's our main threat.

He isn’t ready, necessity has put him there. He’s not like some of our multi-million pound signings, who have just been shit. He’s a young lad with little experience who is muddling through and doing an ok job of it.As ever, I was a bit less harsh than you. After some early shakiness, I thought he was alright… but far from the man of the match you said that people were painting him as.
He might yet make a player, and he held his own second half, but I don’t think he’s ready for regular Championship football yet.
He might yet make a player
Hardly throwing him under the bus am I FFSThat’s because he is a kid, cut him some slack, he’s still growing!
