Kozzy's parting shot
Long-serving defender Rob Kozluk has expressed his sadness that his eight-year stay at Bramall Lane has come to an end.
Rob, who arrived at United in a swap deal that took Vass Borbokis to Derby County in 1999, was released by the Blades last week.
He said: "It's quite sad in a way to be moving on because over eight years you become attached to Sheffield United.
"I joined United with no children whatsoever, but three children have arrived in my time at the club and have grown up following the Blades."
'Kozzy' continued: "There have been some special moments and, when you come to describe them to people, you just can't describe how good they were. Last season was a special season - we did remarkably well and for it to be snatched away like that in the last game is outrageous, isn't it?"
During his time at the Lane, the club's chief prankster proved to be a solid and consistent full-back and saw off a number of contenders for his favoured right-back role.
"When I came on at Newcastle for my debut in the top-flight, I proved a lot of people wrong. The Premiership is a lot different to the Championship, and I think I made the transaction quite well."
Rob also paid tribute to his former manager, Neil Warnock.
He said: "You know where you stand with Neil, and when you have honesty from the manager, you have respect from the player. I think he would be great to work for again because I not only know him, but also like the way he works.
"I think Neil will be rumoured with a lot of jobs and, over these next couple of weeks, I think you'll see where his future lies. He's been a good man to me, we'll remain good friends and I hope he does well."
Rob says that he'd jump at the chance to remain at the Lane - if United's new manager desired him to stay.
"Without question, my first choice would be to go back to United but, if you have to move on, then life's life and you take the rough with the smooth."
He added: "Things are looking like I'll have to move on, but I've no bad memories of the place and it's been a great eight years."
