It was great to get our first win this year, and many of the other results went for us. Looking at the league though its piss poor. It really is there for the taking. Cmon lads lets put a good run together.

Well I've been today and I'm just on my way home. It was fucking diabolical as far as I'm concerned. But, 3pts is 3pts.

Best thread ever , should be renamed the through gritted teeth thread ,if we win the next match it will be like watching germs on a domestos advert

Lurking , waiting for the next defeat then ..............type-a-thon

Aaaah, massive hangover :(

Come on blades kick on Tuesday against a Bury that will be extremely geared up by their pre-match team talk

Yes to his credit, it sounded like Doyle had a much improved game today, and long may it continue.

Maybe he reads this forum ;)

His post match interview was honest enough.

Basically admitted the team and himself have been crap and how much its been driving him mad. One thing to Doyles credit is he never hides.

Bloke behind me slaughtered Doyle throughout the game totally ignoring the fact that he was actually playing very well indeed in the 2nd half.

When Doyle scored, as the rest of the away end went mental, he was screaming 'FUCK OFF DOYLE, FUCK OFF'.

Why spend your time and money going all that way if you feel like that? Just don't get it. :(

(Before anyone asks, it wasn't Micalijo)

A knob head to my left had a go at Flynn all first half....including having a go at him not being wide enough after just being fouled on the touch line and then slagging him off for a mis directed cross when it was Murphy. A few fans told him to shut the fuck up and surprise surprise he didn't re-appear for the 2nd half.

No, there was no sarcasm in that post at all. It was crap for long spells. Did you think we actually played well then?

Having just seen the goals, while the first was ultimately a messy finish I was quite encouraged by the build-up - some nice link-up between Forte to chest the ball to Murphy, who then picked out Forte in the box (unlucky not to score with his shot). The second is just a cracking strike from Kitson.

Re: their goal, reading some of the comments from yesterday I was expecting to see an absolute howler from Long. It is an error, but it's just one of those where the keeper is expecting a touch that doesn't come, and is then flat-footed to react. Contrast that with some of the more basic errors keepers made in the Premiership and Championship yesterday and it's quite a minor one.

No this isn't a name of a club for people that want united to lose, Wilson sacked or McCabe dead.

It's a fact - We've won and all of a sudden the knockers are anonymous.

Sssssssssssh!!!!

Post started by someone who didn't go judging by the time

We won at Shrewsbury - gee whiz

Well i'm prepared to give him another chance, he just needs to live up to his "captains role" which I'm not convinced he has been doing that well.

Onwards and upwards !

Admittedly we were poor the first half, but I thought the second half was a massive improvement. We wanted the ball more, McDonald stepped up a gear and we created numerous chances. Absolutely strolling at 2-0 and then let them score, making for a few nervous minutes. After initially groaning when we re-signed Forte, I think he'll be a great signing. I like Murphy too, though he was a bit anonymous first half. I have to say, Shrewsbury are one of the poorest teams I've seen this season, seemed to be happy with a point from a few minutes onwards, time wasting and playing defensively. I kept thinking get a sub on for Kitson, but them he pops up with a great goal!
On our way to the ground, got talking to a Shrewsbury fan, who said to his son 'Look out, here's some important fans' and continued to tell us how they don't believe teams as big as us are coming to play them. Seems to me, that's what the players thought to. Made me smile though, being one of the 'Massive' :)
Last thing, wish some of the fans would stop the songs about Ched. Had half an hour of continuous songs about 'the whore' on the train home. Siiiggghhhh!

Shrewsbury is a great place with some wonderful pubs. I really enjoyed the day out. I was greatly amused by their fans to the right of the Blades that seemed to be entertaining themselves by singing songs about SWFC and Tevez.

The game itself was entirely forgettable and was settled by a couple moments of quality. We perhaps could have added a third but three points is three points. I heard some of our 'fans' singing about Evans. Most of them are fucking chavs anyway that look like they've got one braincell between them and can fuck off away from SUFC as far as I am concerned.

Judgey, do you watch the news (serious question)?

I thought we controlled the majority of the match. Did Long have a save to make ?

First half we had some clear chances. We just need to up the tempo and we did in the 2nd half. At no stage did you feel Shrewsbury would score. Bearing in mind the pressure was on the players after the poor run,i thought the performance was good, strong and professional. Yes we can improve but 'poor for long spells' is very wide of the mark in my opinion.

At least one - they scored in the 88th minute!

Everyone has their own opinion, and I will respect yours. My opinion is that we were crap for a lot of the game, did what was necessary and then went home with three points. I don't see any differences in performance all year really. I think we have been garbage to watch in most games, bar one or two (the 4-1 home thrashing of Stevenage for example).

The diffrence is that at the beginning of the season we were getting results, so people didn't really mind. When we have not been getting results, it has been truly diabolical to watch.

One thing I won't budge on though - in terms of attacking pace, we are pedestrian at best, sloth - like at worst.

Blade too long HAS to be either a McCabe or someone on Belgiums minimum wage paid to post big ups.

Fab win today. I think far from showing its a crap league, the emergence of Bournmeouth Swindon and Brentford have made it quite a battle in the top 6.
not bigging mccabe up just being realistic
we like 72 other league clubs have no spare cash , 4 cash buys in the last transfer window by league clubs 3 by those with parachute payments , football is skint

slagging him off is pointless, I want us to have new owners , hopefully with 500 million to waste
but it aint going to happen , so as hes keeping us from admin we have to put up with him

Yeah I'm glued to sky news 24 hrs a day with constant updates from NBC fox and euro news

Well it is just human nature that there will be more bad news stories than good news stories. News that people are happy and content doesn't usually make the newscasts, but bad news does. A sad fact I know but it is true. Hence why you will get more people complaining about what is happening at SUFC than say "hey I am happy, its a crap standard but so what we're still playing at BDTBL and we might get promoted out of the third tier...and we won at...Shrewsbury (hardly the Etihad but let's take our small victories).

However the complainers don't necessarily want to see SUFC forever in decline or indeed revel in moaning, any more than you live in a street surrounded by crooks, drug addicts, murderers and paeodophile's in each house or flat. However if you watched the news for the first time you might get that impression.

interesting point but bears little relevance to my main bugbear which is people who only post on here when were losing or have lost , yes they have changed their posting habits since having this pointed out to them but it doesn't change the fact that when we are winning games and doing well they are invisible and if we win it doesn't matter because is only insert name as you constantly do

There are probably the same number of clappers and knockers ,but the knockers think they need to post the same thing a couple of dozen times to make their points valid. They also jump on any bit of news out of the club and turn it into a negative for some reason. For instance 3 threads this week about the postponement of the game ,blaming wilson , mcCabe , anyone they can think of ,when half the county is under water. Why ?

Then we have threads like this one where the clappers come on moaning like fuck because the knockers aren't moaning, dragging shit up from last week, starting polls on who moans most etc, some of you lot need to get a life if you hadn't noticed it was the first win since boxing day yesterday nothing to crack one off for.

heres One of the main offenders before ched Evans got banged up his Laptop was gathering dust in a wardrobe

Yeah but it's enough to get a piss proud surely?

Well I thought that was pretty obvious and belies the greater intelligence I thought you had. Surely most people only say things when they are not right/unhappy. I don't know what you do for a job but if you commute into an office/warehouse or whatever I bet you are more likely to say "What an arse I encountered on the way in today etc, rather than It were great this morning, all traffic lights were green, a mate of mine waived as I drove past. Dog gave me a big hug when I went downstairs" Get real. If the latter applied you more likely to say all right and get on with it. It's human nature.

I do take your point about the mismatch of positives and negatives and that is valid.

Oh by the way I was delighted we won yesterday and posted as such, so perhaps your observation skills are slipping a tad. But one win don't make a promotion...but it's a start.

Finally why do you have to be so nasty to everybody, does it just come with the territory? You never post anything constructive that you can debate. Shame really. If you did it might help a better understanding. We do all support the same club you know. But hey, if we were all the same it'd be boring.:)
