Knill gone?

The board want a young coach to be a natural successor to Wilder I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Billy Sharp ends up on the coaching staff this summer.
I think Wilder needs one for his own career, someone who can help him with his obvious weakness of coaching a team in possession. Bridge that gap and we might see a second wind from him. I’d be disappointed if the assistant was someone like Sharp, you’d want a younger coach but still someone with a solid coaching background.

My ITK source tells me Wilder is livid about this and he didn’t get a say, just waved away by the board again for the second summer in a row. Says he wouldn’t be shocked if he walks after conversations about both this and summer transfer ambitions…

So these clowns have learned nothing from last year and now we're probably starting the season with a really pissed off manager.
Wilder spitting his dummy out again?

Every single thing they do is a fucking disaster

Including bringing back your lord, master and saviour for a third spell? Suppose you might have a point but while last season was disappointing, I don't think I'd go that far.

Probably a bit annoyed that Keith Andrews was let slip to be a success elsewhere.

I don't mind it if there is a plan. I always felt that when Wilder came back, he should have been tasked with finding his inevitable successor.
Speaking to a Brentford fan a couple of weeks ago, he was on the fence regarding Andrews. Feels a lot of the good work is still Franks and Andrews was making lots of errors and costing them more points.

Walker is currently doing his badges at Burnley, I'm not sure if Billy is ? Not a bad idea getting Billy as assistant coach with CW and Kyle as player coach.
And no this isn't bladey bladeness it's the fact that we would move on to more " up to date " coaching methods, plus having someone who's been watching Pep for 10 years isn't a bad thing 😉 and it's guys who get the club .

I don't think it's coincidence that Brighton and Brentford can flip first team coaches without too much drama. The foundations they have beyond that role give huge support.

Think we can all agree that whoever replaces Knilly has to rhyme… Willy Still might be available…🤔

Would be very pleased if he came in to be fair.

Thanks for everything Alan. No idea what's gone down, but you're a club legend (assuming you've not been intentionally sabotaging us in recent seasons!).

It'll be interesting to see who replaces Knilly and, please, let them look wider than someone who knows where Shirecliffe and the club is.

Said before, our owners might be silent, but they know they got a breather from the fans when they brought Chris back. They know that a Blades connection gives them more time if we start to creak again.

Knilly out is only 50% of the job they need to do for me.

Interesting times ahead. I wonder what the true story is?

WE KNOW you’ve only said it about 4000x

Without knowing the full circumstances behind this, it's hard to gauge any impact.

Wilder could be fuming, he could be laid back about it. TBF I'd lean towards the former if it wasn't his decision and he's not got sole choice over any replacement (although the article insinuates that there won't be a replacement but it is the Star and Hall so who knows).

Knill was often good cop to Wilder's bad cop and it worked well, for a while at least.

We'll see how it plays out. If someone does come in to fill the gap, I wouldn't bet much against it being someone who's already been at the club or with a big connection to it!

That won’t stop people start jumping to wild conclusions though.

I choose to see it as a positive move though, now, that is a step towards some level of modernisation in set up and approach.

Knill been a great servant to the club now and should be well remembered by our fans. GLTTL etc.

Fair to say didn't see this coming.

Hopefully all will come to light and it's a positive move all round.

Lot's of speculation on this right now and on this thread. Of which outside the likes of T-Blade can be taken with a a pinch of salt the size of heeley depot.
We don't know all the in's and out's of this. And who will step up to be the new assistant.
