Kieffer Moore

Kieffer Moore has undoubted pedigree at this level, and has a decent record at International level too, considering the strength of the team as a whole.

He did have good games for us, his brace against Cardiff was brilliant. That's at least one good game off the top of my head. I would have preferred we kept him, I was never convinced he was used properly by Wilder to get the best out of him. The same as McBurnie tbh, look how he's playing now he's not just being used solely as a target man and ball winner.

One of his two vs Cardiff was World Class. He HAS the ability and I'm surprised Wrexham got him. It's true he didn't have a brilliant time here but how much of that is down to him and how much is down to the manager? He also had bad luck with injuries.

I'm trying to say he's elite or anything of the sort but he definitely improves our squad. I'd swap Ings or Cannon for him.

Also, his fuck up vs Sunderland was horrendous, but for fuck sake it's not like he's done it on purpose. To hold that against him is just petty IMO.

Interesting Wilder lauding him after the game and seemed to imply he'd have kept him (didn't say it directly and maybe I've got it wrong but talked him being a proper number 9 etc).

For the most part Wilder never got the best out of him as until the last few games and Bristol in the playoffs we barely crossed it and played with one up top. So to hear him praising him so much was bewildering. He stopped picking him for most of the 2nd half of the season until the last few when he dud well.

Moore was mostly poor for United. Recall a few decent games (Blackburn away and Cardiff away) but he barely scored and his touch/finishing was poor. Despite his goals today, I think mid table Champ is about his level but sadly we've regressed to this or even lower.

Getting decent money was right but we failed to replace him. Incidentally anyone see McBurnie today (as many will say that was the obvious replacement including Wilder)? He looked absolutely woeful. Albeit one game.

An average journeyman Championship striker who will score a few goals if you play to his strengths, and a good plan B option.

We rarely played to his strengths & this myth that him (or McBurnie) would have us so much better off don’t wash I’m afraid.

It’s pretty damning that after being in the Prem & top end of the Championship for the past 6 years, we’re now pining for these average target men so we can we hoof some aimless long balls up to them. We can blame Selles all we like but Wilder, Hecky, the recruitment team and coaching staff have been pretty consistent in this period & blaming a guy who was here for 3 months is just too convenient when things aren’t going right.

Fuck him, he never ever put that much effort in a blades shirt, but now he’s playing for his precious welsh club he goes off like that. If I was him, after the season he had for us last season, I’d be embarrassed to show my face and keeping my head down.
Don't think it's anything to do with being Welsh, rather they play a style that gets the best out of him. It was inevitable Parkinson would do it. I didn't rate him for us but his record elsewhere has been good, not just in Wales...
