McBurnie had already gone and Moore would have gone regardless. I'm sure if Wilder had not been sacked he'd have found some other useless lanky twat to use as a target man. I don't think Kevin Francis is currently employed.

Moore had some decent games for us in fairness. But he lacked consistency. He's not scored in 8 games before which sats he's not turned into Alan Shearer. It's the curse of the ex today. We defended awfully and he took advantage.

It was hardly the biggest shock of this season to find that Moore and Windass were extra motivated when facing us.

Moore is a useful, but ageing, Championship level target man. Windass likewise, is useful at this level. Add to that a serious level of motivation and we could have anticipated their determination to make an impact today.

I think Wrexham are on a bit if a crest of a wave and playing us in boxing day is a big game for them. It's a big game for us too, but I think the occasion inspired Wrexham more than it did us. Parkinson would no doubt be banging the revenge drum during team talks etc. Wilder wasn't in charge when we played them in cup games and this was their opportunity for revenge tonight as equals. It was inevitable that Moore would play well but he doesn't play that well every week as we know from last season.

I think Wilder definitely believed in him during his time with us but he is arguably more suited to their tactics than ours. Id still much rather Bamford I might add.
