75 mins in and I've got 3 key points from tonight.

1. Fulham are rather good and I can't believe they don't have this division tied up with Wolves.
2. We're not bad either, just don't have the quality of the top sides in this division - which is no surprise given where we've been for 6 years.
3. If United ever give these fucking plastic fan clapper things that Leicester have and these have tonight, I'll stop going.

barring a major fuck up fulham will be in the premier league next season

Dont disagree. And I don'tthink there Iis a better one in the division at the moment.

Done us twice rather comfortably this season, they were better than the 5-4 score line suggested.

Mitrovic and Sessegnon different gravy.

Outplayed tonight for the 3rd time this season (Wolves, Cardiff and Tonight).

Worrying part for me and its not a dig as such but, of the 8 teams above us in the table, we have played 12 games against them, winning just 2, Wolves and Derby.

Whether you're top or bottom, you have to beat the teams around you and we just can't seem to do that.

We've lost 8 and drawn 2, we still have Cardiff, Boro and Preston to play at home so hopefully we can alter that stat.

We’ve just got to hang in there and keep in contact with 6th place. Best to keep under the radar then sneak in at the last minute. You never know! UTB.

no meltdown tonight - surely even our most biased fans can see how good Fulham are.

Lets just put it to bed and move on - still enough games left.

Just hope that Fulham push on and finish in the top 2 ,as the play offs would be a lottery with them in it.

UTB
Agreed. Just looked at the table and derby are the worst side in the top 6 at the moment( current form). We can still nick 6th spot!. It'll be difficult though!. Utb

Fulham are a more accomplished version of what we are aspiring to be.

No shame in that.

UTB
We don’t aspire to be what Fulham are, the board won’t allow us to... they (Fulham) spend 20mil in January to make the push for promotion we gave 3mill to CW! says it all, and make no mistake come the summer we won’t be making any significant investments in the team and CW will be on his way, ‘IF’ only McCabe in January?

Wouldn`t be a lottery. Fulham would be nailed on.

I disagree, we sat off them first half and got picked apart. Had a good spell when brooks came on and they did us on the break. Plan C of Ched and Holmes is very poor. I put more effort in tonight getting to the game with the underground screwed. Don't think either have given us anything yet this season or ever likely too.

Can't see us going up this season BUT what a brilliant season it has been, Wolves and Fulham are the only sides to outclass us this season, Cardiff just beat an inexperienced team early on.

Looking at how good Wolves and Fulham are just shows how good you have to be to get out of this league and in reality we are nowhere near...yet.

Win our game in hand and we are 6th. Still good to be a Blade right now.

OK, i'm going to buck the trend a little and go against the tide of the Fulham love in.

How is losing 3-0 to a promotion rival acceptable?

Oh come on, nick 6th place, lets be honest we are finding this division [at this stage of the season] as tough as we expected it to be. We are looking at others collapsing to enable us to nick a place. It is not going to happen! With 11 to play including Cardiff, Middlesbrough, Preston, Millwall & Bristol City we will be fortunate to reach 70 points, which bearing in mind the last 6 years is highly commendable & beyond our wildest expectations.

We are showing weaknesses at the front & at the back, conceding too often & not scoring enough. ONE clean sheet away from home & a number of poor performances against teams we should have been better against [Bolton, Hull, Preston, QPR, Millwall], have been the real reasons we are out of the running.

But it has been a great season & I am sure still will be. In fact my only real disappointment is that the January signings have made very little difference to the team that has been spluttering since November. Up front and in defence are areas we need to look at if this season is to be a Launchpad for the future.

Main point Chris needs to look at for next season is how we set-up for these kind of games. We need to have a more defensive strategy. We need to invest in players who can counter well. Power and pace. We've not got the money to match teams like this when they're on form. We need a plan B.

If it had been say Bristol or Preston then I would agree. We forget how much the likes of Wolves, Fulham, Villa etc. have spent on their squads that means they have that extra bit of quality over us.

Do we though? Wilder's mentality is to play your own game and let the opposition worry about us. As soon as you abandon that you introduce fear into the psychology of the team.

We're new to the league and only two teams have rinsed us. We've lost other games, but far more often than not, we've had a chance to win those games, but a bit of quality has cost us.

So I'm all for maintaining the method. Maybe have a change of shape for certain games to free up some pace from wide which we lack now. But we need more quality, not a defensive mindset.
