Not looked at this thread yet to be honest. So i will just say my views on the situation.

We cant let Keith go in my opinion, he has been one of our best(if not the best) player so far this season for us.

Hes done that on a purpose. no team will buy him if hes suspended. So its him saying to the board, give me a new contract or im going for free at the end of the season.

There's no logic in that at all. "give me a new contract or im going for free at the end of the season" is the situation they've been in since August. The only thing that's changed now is that he's made himself unpopular with SUFC and less attractive to other clubs.
He wants a transfer out of BL as soon as possible - he's made that clear.

Gillespie admits charge

Wednesday, 24 January 2007.

Sheffield United midfielder Keith Gillespie has admitted a charge of violent conduct.

The charge related to Gillespie's conduct following his dismissal (also for violent conduct) during the game against Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday 20 January.

Gillespie has requested a personal hearing. A Disciplinary Commission will hear the case on Tuesday 30 January.

I heard (not from a particularly reliable source, mind ) we'd offered him a signing on fee, £2000 per week more than he's currently on, he went away to consider it and put in a transfer request. It's all very well putting it on the shoulders of his agent but the guy is 31 years old and had a handful of different clubs, during which time he must've been through several contract negotiations. He must know how it works and must therefore shoulder some responsibility for how sour things have turned.
