It's not happened here for him, for a few reasons. The form and injury record of JOC is one. He's really not been required, and there's been little chance of him developing. But mocking a player who's hardly figured isn't necessary. I wouldn't trust my own judgement on him. He was ok in a few pre season games last summer, looking more comfortable on the ball and trying to contribute going forward. He's not been able to build on that and looked rusty and lacking in confidence in the cup. We've come to a stage where it would feel risky to rely on him if an injury happened to JOC, so a switch to a more experienced and match fit LCB made sense. GLTTL as he rebuilds his career.

No need for anyone to have a go at him personally, he's just not shown any signs of being good enough. I don't think he'd have got near our L1 team, never mind this season.

If he's going to be a professional in any league he's going to have to pick things up and get playing somewhere

could have sought first team football lower down in leagues 1 and 2 as a teenager and developed by playing the game rather than hanging about the academy and playing the odd 23s game
But I suspect saying you play for Rochdale or Morecambe doesn’t get you the soap star girlfriend!!

But playing for Bury and Oldham did.:)

Some very odd opinions in this thread.

what evidence is there he hasn’t been dedicated or he’s fame hungry? Absolutely none, as far as I can see, other than having a famous girlfriend. Hes struggled with fitness and opportunites to make an impact.

Perhaps he’s just not good enough but no reason to slag him off. If he goes and plays regularly then we might see if there is a player there.

His form and positional play in the cup games reminds me of Jack O’Conn’s first few games for us to be fair. I can remember everyone moaning about him to begin with.

He looks rusty and out of match practice having not played for two years. Good luck when he finds a club, but he’ll get no ill will from me for basically not been better than Jack O’Connell (which is what we’re asking of him) and not having the opportunity to play regular football.

He’s obviously not gone anywhere yet, but will those people saying he’s been stealing a living take their words back when he drops down a few leagues for regular football?

Notlob are already in the shit, why are they taking the risk of having their keepers decapitated?

Seriously though, GLTTL.

He must have something about him to have been so highly rated at Citeh, it just hasn't happened for him here. He is still young enough though but he badly needs games.

GLTTL and we'll see what happens.

Well this will be a test of his character. He either knuckles down and proves he’s better than L1 or he’ll have to learn how to wash his own kit when he’s playing for Curzon Ashton in a couple of seasons.

Probably the right level for him to be playing at. I'm not one for condemning players but he wasn't good enough last season never mind in the PL. Good luck to him

I doubt his ability as a footballer and therefore his character as a person. Good riddance to the lad.

Closer to home his girlfriend will be back on Corrie soon ,so he will be babysitting 😁

But glttl I tbf I have always thought there's a footballer in there but I think for a lot of these lads they don't get grounded at club's like city and that's the reason a lot of them fall out of sight 🤔
