I'm not going to comment on the actual 'apparent' buy-out, but one thing i dont fully understand is why this statement was put out in the first place. It makes no sense to tell us that negotiations are taking place. We are no better off for knowing. Nothing changes, if anything it has undermined the current stability and wellbeing of the club with all the wild speculation. So why not wait until it is, or isn't, concluded ?
The only reason I can think of is to test public opinion. Maybe one or both parties believe that this news will not be well received, and they wanted to know just how strong the feeling might be ?
McCabe's been here a long time so I guess it does 'soften the blow' of his leaving by announcing this in stages.
I reckon whatever deal is going on is pretty much done, with us looking safe in the Championship they'll hopefully be in place to kick on in the summer with the higher level of investment.
I think the club would be much worse off come the summer if this were some some elaborate ruse to get Princey out and McCabe were left on his tod looking for new investors/buyer (again) and forking out for transfer's for 2018/19.
