You would have moaned if kick off was delayed.
Sky wouldn't have even mentioned sit in if it happened at half time.

It wouldn't have impacted on the result, which you claim didn't matter. But you've ignored that bit.

But it would have delayed you lot getting home, which seems to be the biggest problem?

I'm sure you took all of that into account during the stoppages during play.

You need to put the shovel down. You're making yourself look stupid.

So what should we have done? Just not protest?
You could have done what Charlton fans did when we visited the Valley - spoke to us in the streets as we were heading to the stadium, explained what they were going to do, handed out little (soft) plastic taxis and footballs and asked if we would join in by throwing them on the pitch as the game kicked off.
At the appointed time, several hundred plastic taxis and footballs rained down on the goalmouth from the away end as well as from the rest of the ground and the atmosphere was one of support from opposition fans instead of anger.
Game held up for a couple of minutes but no further animosity between supporters.
Your issues would have been just as well highlighted at start of a Sky Sports Live football match.

We did that a few weeks previous with Charlton and it didn't get any media coverage.

They don't, but they did on that Friday night.

And we cared about our team and our promotion push which your antics attempted, whether you like it or not, to affect. And you moaned nationwide about our fans reaction.

Because it wasn't on TV?

So the game wasn't on Match of the Day then? Which I believe attracts far bigger audiences than any game on sky. I'm normally fair to visiting fans on our forum but the continual bleating from cov fans insinuating that for some reason Blades were in the wrong on that night (also inexplicably backed up by Danny) is ridiculous.

So we should care about your promotion push? I don't get that.

I'm not, I originally came on here to explain why we protested and what SISU have actually done to the club. Of course you lot couldn't care less.

If you wanted us to be sympathetic to your plight (and I'm led to believe sisu are in fact terrible owners) then maybe your fans shouldn't have acted like twats. As far as I'm concerned, they tried to do everything to put us off (whistles boos and objects and then the pitch invasion all happened whilst we were in the ascendency) - it backfired on them and they started crying about a chant that we sung. So no I don't have sympathy at all.

The penny still isn't dropping is it?

Why should we care about you when your actions could affect us? Nothing our fans did that night affected you. As has been explained to you, Charlton asked us to support them, took the trouble to explain things and lo and behold received our backing. You said yourself the result didn't matter but the whistles were blown when we were attacking - something you're steering clear of commenting on - and you can't understand our reaction?

There were SISU chants well before anyone went on the pitch.

No, not to put you off. To get the game abandoned.

And lose them both! Last three games have been Forest Green Rovers away, Accrington Stanley at home and Colchester away. Lost all three.

Have you written to the letters page of When Saturday Comes about those results? You'll get some support on there from all those "proper" football fans. :)

Accrington are flying though.....

What a thread, brilliant memories.

Both clubs got what they deserved in the end.

Karma.

I'm probably alone here but I feel for Coventry and what they've gone through similar to Blackpool is a disgrace and I would never wish that on any club - apart from Wednesday. Yes the night we played them was frustrating and they should have done their protest onto the pitch right at the beginning or after the game but they were desperate and we like them only see our own point of view. Ours being that we needed three points and theirs that they saw an opportunity to make a protest on Sky TV.

Now that Cov have McNulty and Doyle I keep an eye out for their results and I hope they get promoted this season. If this was the other way round and we had owners who took us away from the Lane to a new stadium (yes Highfield Road was in need of major work, unlike the Lane) that is soulless and not owned by the club and then that stadium is sold to a rugby club so now they have to compete with Wasps for supporters, on a pitch ruined by rugby, I think we'd have being lording any fans making protests. That's my view and maybe many disagree.

But, their fans were complete shithouses in the way they acted that night. So the sympathy I had well and truly disappeared.

Twats.

I'm pretty sure no Blade wants to see owners like SISU in the game. It was an ironic chant in reaction to the antics of some of the Cov fans who were using the protest to try and put us off our game. They acted like twats so we responded by taking the piss. And some of their fans massively overreacted by attacking some of our supporters. I'm sure that a lot of Cov fans are actually embarrassed at the way their protest was hijacked by a few dickheads.
The whole thing is a massive overeaction to a piss taking chant caused by a minority of Cov fans acting like idiots. If they'd protested in a way that didn't directly try to compromise our promotion campaign I'm sure most Blades would have supported their protest.
