Somebody mentioned the other day that ten years ago either TV or newspaper, but ex pro's had to predict a team for the current euroes in France, it included baxter, shows how difficult it is to predict who is going to make it in the game for what ever reason, can't you tell us who the team is Mr.fox?

Twitter rumours say he's been training with Oldham for a few days and is about to be announced, but a Coventry fan reckons he's on trial there

David Moyes compared Baxter with Maradona when he was in the Everton youth set up.

A yet they still gave Moyes the Man U job.

With the team that C.W. is building, a fit and focused Jose would have been a big asset to Chris.
The guy could have gone on and been a good player for us if he had been dedicated enough.
His mate James Wallace has been through hell with injuries but is still fighting like fuck to stay in the game.
Take a leaf out of James's book Jose before it's too late.
Nothing would give me more pleasure than for both to come through their own battles.

Sorry but the bloke is where he is because the 50 percent you need to be a footballer (effort and application), he ain't got it. It's debatable he has the talent regularly enough. Young Diego would be wise to look at Baxters career and see what happens when you think you are better than you actually are.

If that's true then that is pretty decent. We've took their play of the year off them and they've took Baxter.

Can't see any club signing him while he's got a ban hanging over him.
or has he been cleared.I would think
any ban would be at least 12 months

Baxter has the ability to do things that the vast majority of players at this level simply can't. Vision, technique, it's a step above. Thing is, he's unfit, often lazy, and if you're going to have those two qualities your other contributions need to go up to compensate. Instead what we've seen is his contribution to the games drop lower and lower to the point that his playing a great through ball no one else would've spotted every dozen games is nowhere near enough to justify him. He's been living off the promise that one day he'll turn it on and be a star player. Now he's too old for that.

The real Jose Baxter isn't the one that scored 17 in a season for a poor Oldham team. It's the Baxter that's under performed in game after game for the past two seasons. That's the guy that would turn out again for us next season. And it isn't good enough.

As always, best of luck to him and hope he turns his career around, but we have no expectations that he'll do it here.

An on form/fit/mentally sound Jose Baxter would be a top player in any League One side. Unfortunately, he is ruining his life/career and needs to sort himself out. Completely agree with poker blade, his vision and technique is step above - and he is one of the best technically-gifted players we have had in a long time.

I was disappointed in him - he let us down big style. But I dont hate him - with his goals and assists he contributed a lot more than some of the wasters we have had recently. I also wont forget that he was the first player to score for us at Wembley in an age.

It's Oldham he is supposed to be training with.

Fuck him, the complete bell end. What a waste and he really was, all this coming from one of his defendants at times over recent season, nob head!
Well done for being honest Wiz ,I spent many a lonely hour on here debating the wanker ,never liked him ,never rated him ,so glad hes been found out. I hope he is never made welcome at the Lane because he robbed our club blind and took the piss time after time. Vision my arse ,technique my arse ,ability my arse ,the most over-rated footballer on the planet ,he was wank and we gave him chance after chance.

I would imagine there a quite a few people on here who are subjected to drug and alcohol screenings for their own safety and the safety others and they adhere to them for those reasons and also to protect their own livelihoods and standards of living.

Yet that fat lazy smack head druggie cunt in a very priveleged position didn't just fail one drugs test, he went on and did it again. Fucking hope it has finished his career in professional football. One transgression can be overlooked but to do it twice is gross stupidity.

I agree, but I'm willing to bet you a Balti Pie that he'll get picked up by someone else. Not saying he should, but I think he will.

I still feel for the lad. Money doesn't make you happy. Immature and clearly ill-equipped to manage his own life. There's probably hundreds of players who are only probably a hair's-breadth away from fucking up.

True and a good point. But they have (I think) access to help they might need via the PFA. Normal folk like me and you have to go via the NHS.

Absolutely. You only need to remember Speed to know that what goes on behind the scenes is rarely readily apparent to people close to the individual, never mind us from the vantage point of fans.

I'm not going to pretend I've never been pissed off with Baxter on the pitch or off it, but being level-headed I'm not going judge the guy. Maybe he's an arrogant twat, maybe he's just a poor guy struggling with personal demons. All I can say is that on the face of it the club's given him more support than he'd expect in most jobs and now we've hit the point where Baxter's problems can't be our problems any more.

Hopefully the PFA have protocols to provide help, and leaving us will be a shake up that gets him on the right path.

Yeah, if he even thinks he's got a problem. Maybe he'll accept it when he's 30.

Do you know what Tony? I think deep down he might know he has. I can speak from some experience, although I have no idea what his story might be. But when things are difficult to handle, one looks for a crutch. Not for a minute am I defending his actions. He has been stupid and is pissing away a fantastic career, especially when, if he does need help, it is readily available.

Or alternatively, maybe he just likes shoving shit up his nose and my theory is complete bollocks. Only he really knows. Shame really as there is a good footballer in there somewhere.

A second guilty offence is supposed to be a minimum 2 year ban.

If Foxy says he is training with a club, this suggests maybe he has got some concession again or somehow proven not guilty.

It bugs me that the FA aren't transparent with these things. SUFC paid his wages and he's taken the piss out of us fans yet no one knows whether he is guilty or not or whether there is a sanction or not.

A lot of players can't cope with the pressure of professional football. It's always been the case in the modern game; you get criticised by the press and, these days, social media, your own fans boo you at times, etc.
they used to cope with it by drinking; there were plenty of players who were gifted but shy and introverted who hid in the bottom of a glass, like Paul McGrath, for example.
