was only stating what had been printed in the paper! 122-124 according to that. 50 above the limit.

It's just useful to quote sources... same as we ask in the rumour mill forum.

Then at least we can quickly point fingers elsewhere if I get any stuffy emails through :)

Anyway... either way he's been a very silly boy. But like a few people have mentioned, it's hard to 100% concentrate all the time. I'm trying to learn to drive and you need eyes everywhere... maybe those that have been driving a little longer than I have are perhaps more into the routine of not thinking they need eyes everywhere.

Sad and unfortunate all round.

I'm sure like all drivers you're not alone in finding it hard to concentrate on everything all at once. There are many things to distract you when you are driving, and it's easy enough for your attention to wander.

I've had two crashes that were my fault, one at around 35mph sliding into the back of somebody, and one reversing a Discovery onto somebody's bonnet. In both occasions nobody was hurt, although I have had somebody hurtle into me resulting in whiplash injuries, a month off work and a legacy of back and neck pain that's still ongoing.

I'm also sure that most of us who drive have had a few close shaves that were rather worrying, either our fault or somebody else's. But for a quirk of fate it could have been us in either Jordan Robertson's position, or that of the driver he killed.

As a driver you are in control of a potentially lethal weapon, and there will be times that your skill won't matter at all if the other driver crashes into you.

It's not unfortunate at all. Driving at 124 mph is not just 'silly' or 'stupid' it's plain irresponsible. This is not the same as someone driving within speed limits and playing with their ipod - that is potentially unfortunate - even though it still shouldn't be done. If he was driving at that speed and taking his eye off the road, then frankly the guy is beyond stupid - he's moronic.

In the

If deprived of their freedom means a cosy cell with access to Tv/Radio/ internet and playstations etc then you've got a point. I say that in certain instances people should be left to rot in a cell and just fed bare minimum, I say Police should be able to walk round our streets and be respected like they used to. When I was a kid the teahers at my school weren't afraid to punish bad behaviour,Police were feared by most teenagers. What now? Parents marching round to schools protesting at their kids getting detention or 'shouted' at in class. No respect in this society anymore.

You're mixing up lots of issues and getting it wrong. Being locked up in prison is not a holiday camp whatever 'luxuries' are offered, and the fact so many re-offend is more down to the circumstances in which they live (inability to find work or settle into 'normal' relationships, for example) after leaving prison.

As for 'when I was a kid', I know the attitudes are different now, but what makes you think that this sepia tinted vision of days gone by is in any way accurate? Did the slipper or the cane or the cuff round the ear really make any lasting difference to the kids who got it?

Bad parenting, the demonising of good (tough love) parenting, the development of our children as brand aware consumers by the time they are three, the promotion of rights over responsibilities...now there, I might just get my horned helmet on with you...

Harsh!

I'd expect that Jordan will have his contract terminated. He has shown remorse which is more than some people in his situation have done.

This shouldnt compared with the Hughes incident as from what i remember he actually fled the scene?
