if we could only keep seriki fit he would be our number 1 right back yes one or two defensive frailties but with choudray and souza as the 2 in midfield we have plenty of cover plus jrs looks a bigger threat when seriki is with him down that right hand side

Guess that's what risk Hertha are willing to take.. sure it says in the article we can offer him a pre contract to sign in the summer
Depends what we do. Think with structure of deals being done and for once Blade’s holding out for “option to buy” suggests we don’t see these players as dead certs for long term if we are promoted.

Might be wrong but it’s all I’ve got to hang on to if Wilder is staying and it’s a trade off between Wilders ambishun and new owners/Des ambition.

Reading through everyone comments it make you appreciate what a diamond we had in Furious George 😞
Aye
Although there were plenty of folk who bemoaned his (apparent / alleged) limitations going forward & (strongly ) advocated for him to be ‘replaced’ by / with Bogle
Recently noticed some ‘revisionist) stirrings that we shouldn’t have sold (that ‘cheaply’) 🤔

I think it was a suitable move for George as he wanted to improve his chances with the international team.

Apologies
The “sold cheaply’ was about Bogle, but you’re correct it was ‘morally the correct decision to let Baldock go including the fact that his immense exertions were beginning to catch up on him physically

Totally agree Ancient. If we r playing Souza and Choudray we have to have an attacking threat down the flanks otherwise with the keeper we will have 7 defensive players on the pitch. Seriki amd Burrows at full back would provide that threat, Gilchrist won't.

The fact Seriki wasn't in the squad for Hull was very worrying and I think that's a reason Wilder is so keen to bring a player in for a position that on paper looks one of our strongest.

He’ll be pi55ed off

Agree…..his dream of ever playing in the Premier league again could have gone forever.
We would have been the perfect move for him at the right time too.

He failed at Everton and doubt any PL club will be remotely interested in him.
He’s done a Jaydon Sancho, taken a risk and shown bravery to rebuild his career in a totally new country.
It’s obvious and understandable that one day he’ll want to return home to his country with his family.

Sounds like he’s been a success in Germany and should be a very good Championship defender but maybe not good enough for the PL.
So joining a northern club (quite close to his home town of Liverpool) with a great chance of promotion is perfect.

He’s built up his confidence playing well in Germany, so a move to a winning club in the Championship should be a manageable and successful transition.
Also Wilder will be able to see at close quarters whether he thinks he can make the step up to the premier league or whether we need better.

If he joins us next season if we’re in the PL, it could be too big a jump and his confidence could take a dive ( abit like what happened with Vini Souza).
Can only see us taking him next year as back up because we don’t know his standard yet, so too much of a risk to make him 1st choice in the PL.

Ironically if we fail to gain promotion….then I reckon there’s more chance of us trying to sign him next season to play in the Championship.

They might not get anything now but also might not care.
If he left now then they may have had to replace him now too, which may have incurred a fee and therefore why they were holding out for the fee they wanted.
They may have someone lined up to come in in case we paid their fee…who may also be coming to the end of his contract.

So the fee may well be neither here nor there in the scheme of things.

Never heard anybody actually say these out loud. Any more for any more?

I spent a summer with a bunch of Londoners. All great guys by the way.

And I can definitely confirm that Spurs fans call Arsenal, 'the Arse' and Arsenal fans call Spurs, 'the Spuds.'

I've heard the other lot from S6 being called, 'Wendy' loads of times. I personally prefer it.

Hertha just lost to last place Regensburg. I wonder if they still believe keeping Kenny was worth it.

He'll probably sign for one of the relegated teams in the summer in the hope of getting promoted at the end of the season.
