Agree with some of that. I think we missed a chance in not signing Jack Marriott. I watched a lot of Waghorn playing for Rangers. He was a bit of a one trick pony who didn`t do enough often enough. A view of Marriott`s goals last season, a fine collection for any player, never mind a young player, convinced me he was a far better target than Waghorn. Looking at the reported figures for a possible Waghorn deal we could probably have got him.
Re your last point, I think it needs to be a forward. A 6 ft 4 inch Billy Whitehurst would be a good`un.

I wouldn't be averse to a powerhouse being signed up front, not at all but I I suspect money will be tight and it could be a punt from league one in anything. Kiefer Moore might be a decent shout if we could prise him from the Dingles.
In any case I think that backup/competition for Duffy might be prioritised, with a CF/Striker being next on the list.

Fair comment. Fingers crossed. I do sometimes wonder whether two ex- defenders, ( CW + AK ), are the best combination to make final decisions on potential strikers.

I don’t know about Washington, but Johnson looks lively to me. I think he is trying too hard to impress and that’s why he went for the attacking option today when he really didn’t need to. Give the lad a full game and let’s see what he can do. I think we’ll be pleased with what he can do tbh. Pacey and direct.

Fair do's. Don't know enough about the lad myself, just a thought really, but he has been touted a lot by the RS boys over the past couple of seasons.. Sure there will be plenty out there who could do a job for us.

a) Go past the defender with pace and take it to the corner, stand over the ball, get kicked a bit and run down about 1 min 30 secs of time and we get 3 points.
b) Boot the ball into row Z behind the corner flag and run down about 1 min 30 secs of time and we get 3 points.
c) Hold the ball up and pass to one of our players who does a) or b) and run down about 1 min 30 secs of time and we get 3 points.
d) Give the fu**ing ball away like a bloody fairy, ball comes back in our box, we defend like fairies and they equalise !!

Washington looks like he can run a marathon and do little else ……

Yes how many minutes have they played ? Do you expect them to be able to make any impact at all playing 5 minutes now and again I’m not saying there world beaters but you cant judge them when they’ve not been given a fair crack to show it
