Not long since he said his future lie with the Blades and he had unfinished work to do,after being apprroached by Crawley.
Winter gone now so is there another?

According to someone extremely close to him who also works at the academy no 2 looks extremely likely.

There's a big difference between leaving for Crawley and leaving for Forest though. He has connections with Forest, and they have an academy to work with whereas Crawley don't...

Crying shame that, could easily set our acedemy back 5 years....thanks Pembo and all the best.

Out of interest, are clubs allowed to poach youngsters? Pembo will have the low down on all the kids coming through...

Its a shame and hopefully its not a big loss.

Clubs are certainly allowed to poach youngsters. One of the main planks of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), the document which lays out the changes to the Academy system, curently in their first year of imlementation, makes it much easier for clubs to do this than previously.

Pembo has VERY close links with senior figures at Forest's academy. It's rumoured that their academy, which already has a strong reputation on the circuit, is in line for substantial new investment from the new owners. They are also looking to recruit to new positions created by the need to meet the new EPPP directives.

Add it all up, and it doesn't look great for the Blades. Of course, there are plenty of other places Pembo could end up !

Oh, and Forest's academy director has been in post for more than a decade and is unlikely to be looking to relinquish his job. Difficult to see how Pembo could work at academy level at the moment, unless he went straight into the top position.

How are Forest fixed for 1st team coaches ?

Contracts and resignations are fiddly things, especially when the employee is wanting to straight into another job.

Are we entitled to compensation from Forest if Pemberton resigned?
Even if we are, I don't hold out much hope we'll getting any.
When Blackwell left for Leeds we got an imaginary friendly and a non-existent loan player.
Surely United will actually fight their corner properly this time, considering people are losing their job due to our lack of finances.

Thought I read somewhere he was to join Forest to look after the U21 side?
That is also my understanding but with use primarily of players graduationg from their academy. Would have been ideal postion for him at the Lane but we have blood and Guts Chris Morgan in that position which I fear means they may well ne instructed to play in another way contrary to the way they have been coached.

Ghandi, you might be surprised about Morgans thoughts on how football should be played.

I thought similarly to you, and was quickly correctly.

Chris Morgan is a prime example of a player making the most of their ability: he wasn't technically brilliant but that doesn't mean he doesn't want his team to play nice football. He must be capable of getting his development team to play in the same way as the academy and first teams otherwise you'd have to question his appointment.

I'd be amazed if the emphasis at U21 level wasn't on retention of possession and attacking movement, exactly the same as every other level of the club.

I'm glad that my uninformed hunch is backed up by your more informed view FB!

Glad to hear the u21s are playing a passing game lets hope it continues from the academy to the 1st XI but make no doubt about it Pembo leaves a large hole to be filled.

Perhaps, but perhaps the academy is in a better position to fill that hole now.
